What an extraordinary story - I honestly don't know what to say, except that it was wonderful, wondrous, magical. It was fantastic.

I am truly speechless. This is wonderful and so moving parts had me choked up and Severus's feeling of begin unable to help were shown beautifully. Nice to see that Lucius had morals enough to not give harry to Draco. Very well done.

I admit I clicked nearly on the Back-button right at the beginning when I stared in horror at the "Spring Break"! Which of course doesn't exist in GB. One of my serious squicks is American culture (It's somehow always US-Americans who do this, at least in my experience - I'm sure I'd find it just as annoying if other nationalities were just as prone to force their own customs onto other countries in fanfiction.) transplanted randomly into other cultures out of ignorance or for other reasons.

I'm glad I decided to read on though! ^_^ It was very enjoyable and the world-building was really well-done. The somewhat open ending fit quite well here imo.
The fleshing out of some supporting characters with just a few sentences was impressive, especially that of unsympathetic ones like McNair: many writers make the bad characters complete monsters without a single redeemable feature or impulse, which isn't very realistic imo.

A magnificent story! I love all the detail and I'm so glad Lucius had the decency to not leave Harry with Draco. It too didn't take me long to figure out the Phoenix and Ris were the same (the angel pendent). Excellent and moving work!~Sophia

I really liked this, though I admit I was thrown a few times by the spelling orian instead of oiran. There was a lot of research thrown into this, and it shows. The world you created was wonderful, and it was interesting to see how it turned out.

This was an amazing, mind-blowing, indescribable story. Looking at the summary I originally didn't want to read it as prostitution fics are not my thing but when I saw who wrote it I knew I had to read it cause I new you can bang out an amazing story in you sleep. And you didn't disappoint. This has to be my favorite story so far and I even cried at one point. You are an amazing writer. I am sending you so much love write. This story made my day and I can't write anymore - I've gone speechless.

Lovely--if a story with so much hurt and angst could be called that! But your writing was beautiful, no word wasted. And your characterizations were believable, even though they were not canon. Interesting AU--I, of course, expected the Dark Lord to be Voldemort, and was pleasantly surprised when it was not! Lovely bit of symbolism, tying Severus' attachment to the oiran doll to Harry's later incarnation, almost as if Lucius "created" Phoenix with Snape in mind. Well done!

Wow! You have blown me away with this magnificent story. It was so rich, so detailed and layered. The amount of research that went into this is clear. *happy sigh* Even with the angsty bits, it was lovely. Poor Harry! Thank goodness Lucius and then finally Severus saved him.
And Draco... *stabs repeatedly*
Really wonderful job!

Team Phoenix strikes again! *glee*

What a brutal 'normal' world you have created!

It chilled me and yet at the same time I found I couldn't tell myself that this was an imaginery world. This may be an AU, but it sure as hell isn't an AR.

I was repelled by the beginning, but forged on. OMG! What a world! Grindelwald, not Voldemort. That took a little getting used to. But it works and works well. Bravo!

One day, the Prince Estate could easily hold a dozen little girls and even a boy or two, but there would be no rush to fill the bedrooms.

Stuck in their little corner of the world, they will find a sort of peace, all the while knowing what exits beyond their borders.

(Read very much, now that I think of it, like the so-called Dark Ages. Which makes sense for the Dark Lord who is at the head of it all.)

Marvelous H/C.

Wow. I admit, I was hesitant to read this with the warnings but am so very glad that I soldiered on ahead with it. Your story is devastating, but has such a strong river of hope with its ending. Very well done.

What an awesome story. I really love the world you created -- the what-if of a world ruled by an aging dark lord. I especially like that it's not overturned at the end, that Snape and harry must simply carve out their own piece of happiness within it. There's so many things I liked about it, but I think it's your take on Lucius, Draco, and Snape that I like best. Lucius is much more how I imagine him than he's usually portrayed -- a man who is prejudiced, and not 'good', but also not 'evil'. Snape's 'half-blood prince' role is great, and Evil!Draco is terrifying in his calousness. Great story all around, thanks for sharing!

I must say that this isn't a story I normally would have read through to completion, but now that I have, I thank you. While I've read other stories that contain portions of what you've included, none have been put together quite so well. I just hope that, when all was said and done, Draco got what was really coming to him rather than just a slap on the wrist, though I doubt it.

Excellent job!

Like several other posters, I wasn't sure whether I could make it through based on the warnings. You created such a different world-Grindelwald almost a benevolent Dark Lord (as if) and the very highly developed potions story line. Draco was abominable on so many levels, Lucius obviously had his heart in the right place when it mattered. Severus had that unique way of maintaining distance and yet being in the thick of things. I was really hoping for a happy ending and I'm glad I chose to read this.

I've been a bit remiss in commenting, but I felt compelled to on this story mainly because I, like many other reviewers, almost didn't read the story based on the warnings (I mean, all those Harry/ and no Snape??? j/k) and am glad I did. I won't say I was overwhelmed by the amazingness on every level, I was slightly squicked out by the pendant, and the brutal sex was difficult to read, without much joy and happiness to balance it out (which is my personal preference), but I was extremely impressed by the totality of the AU and the way the change in universe was so completely embedded in the story; and I liked that you chose to kick the Dark Lord back old school. It was actually kind of creepy how much Grindelwald seemed like a more casually violent and prejudiced Dumbledore.

I would love to see a fluffy mpreg sequel to this, that would be way more up my alley, and I was really interested in the relationship Harrison and Severus would develop.

wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! Quite a tear-jerker (at least for me); you've built this world quite well. Of course the DL in question would be Grinde, and not Voldie. Love how you worked Eileen's story into the fic as well as other aspects. A very dark world, similar to the worlds in Blackbird and Pet, but I love how light appears at the end in all three. Love to see a bit more of this -- maybe something about Harry's healer studies? :)

What a wonderful world you've created. Enough consistancy to keep us happy and enough difference to maintain our interest.
I also realised early on that Ris and Phoenix were one and the same.Only kept me intrigued as to how it work out.

Beautifully written and has reminded me to go and re-read 'Blackbird'.

I'm glad I waited a little before reading this fic... you got to be in the mood for angst, considering all the warnings and now that I read it, I can only say that it's an impressive, powerful work. harry's identity crisis ... I loved it, I'm still not sure how he really looks.
I also liked that they were under grindelwald's reign and not under voldemorts. despite his age grindelwald seems much saner, which is quite comforting, knowing that in this fic he rules over britain.
yeah, I'm babbling.. so well done!

I would have loved to see draco being punished by lucius, even if only discreetly..

I really loved the AU world you created. Quite a dark fic - to be honest, usually I run away from such warnings very, very fast - but the description was so intriguing I couldn`t just...pass this one :P And the fic was so original in some ways and got more and more interesting, so I just couldn`t stop reading. Loved the plot, loved Lucius, loved Grindewald, loved Snape, loved the whole alternative how-things-could-have-turned-out-if universe... I wish there were more fics like this in, er, fluffier side of fandom.

This is only my second mpeg fic that I've read. I usually hate the subject, but once I was involved with this fic I couldn't stop reading.

Really wished there was a *~*love*~* scene between Snape and Harry at the end, but the fic's plot really held up without it.

I enjoyed it!

What a wonderfully creative piece of writing! I loved the originality that you bring to the world of Snarry fan writing - so refreshingly new, yet rooted enough in the HP world that it works really well. I loved your story - especially your characterisation of Harry. Too good!
