This story is amazing. I don't think I have words for how much I love it.
My background is in Victorian literature, so I was a bit leery that a modern writer could emulate the Victorian voice. You've done it, brilliantly. Not only in language, but in a male cultural perspective, IMHO. The inner voice of the ego, the self-reflection, the humility and the pride: all shine through. Yet you've managed to reflect Severus's harsh, too-ready-to-judge character as well, which I think is quite a feat.
Spectacular. I've loved many of the stories that have come from this year's Games, but this is far above and beyond my favorite. Thank you for all of the work and love that have gone into this story. As a reader, I feel as if I've truly been given a gift.
