eee - thank you! i've always been really fascinated by the silver doe idea - what snape felt going out into the forest after harry etc. i'm so pleased this part struck with you. i wanted to make snape's feelings obvious, but not sledgehammery. inevitable, like you say - i think that's what i mean. thank you!

I share that fascination; in fact I wrote a ficlet about the forest of dean for someone's birthday last year - but without a happy memory for Snape.

I love your writing style and the subtlety of your story. It really was a great read and I'm sure I'll be reading it again.
