Excerpt from your story: "Much good that did me. You thought me dead. And it took so long," Newlin's voice was hoarse, "so long to grow up again. To become someone who might have access to you." "Why me?" "Too many reasons. Power. Vindication. We shared a fate." "We were both pawns," Harry said. "That's it, isn't it? I'm the only one who knows what it's like." "Yes." Newlin's eyes burned. "You want me," Harry whispered. "You have since I was a child. You lied." "Then take what you want. You always do," came the whispered reply. Harry nodded, willing Newlin to be at his side. Newlin stood apart. Harry sighed. Later, then. "Davies."
Me: I don't understand... I want to think, like Harry does, that Snape (and then Newlin later) wanted Harry -- but what's all this about power and vindication and sharing a fate and both being pawns etc? Are those also the reasons or false reasons... and when Harry then says "you lied" is he referring to just now, or Snape lying in the past... Could you please give me some clarification, or is it meant to be open to interpretation?
Your story nearly drove me INSANE with how interesting it was!!! This was beyond the "edge of your seat" ... this was more like I had to stop reading and just take deep breaths as it was too exciting to take in any more! :D So yeah, I love it, but at the end I got confused... maybe some brain cells got fried through all the excitement of reading it... :D
