*Happy sigh*. A totally absorbing mystery: one of my favourite fics of the Games so far. And well done for your treatment of the Elder Wand! Ever since reading DH, I've felt that Harry was naive in thinking it could be disposed of so easily.

Holy fucking hell. I love you. Going for coherence here, bear with me.

The wand-how Harry thinks it's the wand driving him. The circumstances of Newlin's birth-dear god, what a mess and poor Narcissa. How totally fucked up Davies is, how it's really hard to say at what point Newlin really chooses which side he's on (so like dear Severus), the times when they talk about Snape-Newlin's reactions were priceless. And the end-oh lord, just perfect. Absolute win.

Whoa. Points for an incredibly engrossing political intrigue plot! I think the best thing about this story, though, is that you manage to dig into DH canon and sustain tension and ambiguity. I consider it more a feat to bring mystery and character growth into closed canon than before--Voldemort's gone, the Ministry's "reformed," and Harry's "happily" married--but you've done so impressively. I enjoyed this very much. :)

Klynie, darling, loved this to BITS! THOROUGHLY engrossing. I think I mentioned this to you commenting on your Snape/Draco fic -- you don't write as often as I'd like (I'm a greedy bitch, what can I say? *G*), but when you do, you REALLY bring it.

Excellent, excellent fic! *hearts*

Amazing story - just wonderful. I love the *consequences* that follow on for everyone and the wonderful relationships that have matured and changed.
And the twist! The books, the memories, the interaction with Draco.
Brilliant.

Very interesting story. I enjoyed the look at the politics of the Wizarding world and the mystery of Owen. Harry went through a very hard time in order to understand himself, but you got him there in the end.
Bravo!

So many things to love about this story--Harry and the ghost writer, of course. I fell in love with Newlin from the start, thinking to myself that he reminded me of the Half-Blood Prince. Worked my noggin hard, trying to figure out a way that he could be Snape, but finally had to give it up. What you did was so unexpected and cunning, you minx!

What I liked most was what you sowed in the reader so far as the Elder Wand was concerned. How it ended up, what really was at work...it's a universal theme that most of us would like to believe about ourself and our actions, but in the end, we make the same discovery as Harry, if we're lucky. You did that so very well. And it was so fitting that Harry had to fix this before he could have the future he wanted.

That last scene...it reminded me of the end of Pelican Brief, where Darby Shaw's waiting on a beach somewhere, and you just know Gray Grantham's gonna show.

Excellent story, Klynie, one of the best of the Games. Rereading it...was double the pleasure, and allowed me to notice all sorts of little things that I didn' that first time. Great job, Dragon! ROAR!!!

An excellent and exciting story fraught with political drama with a dash of mystery as well. Very nicely written!

It was a given that Owen Newlin was Severus Snape but I was pleasantly surprised with the how of his resurrection. 'Twas highly original!

Harry went through quite a trial throughout the story. I was glad that he was finally able to decide what he wanted and grabbed it with both hands.

Great story!

I really liked this, and in particular how it's so plausible within the realm of canon! Great intrigue, nice mystery, and I liked that little snippets of Snape came through every once in a while, not in a highly obvious way, but enough that we got the inkling of what might be, whether it was just our own wishful thinking or not!

Wow. That was quite a ride! Your Harry is flawed and human, kind of embarrassing since your tight POV had me identifying with him so much. I was also kind of in the mood for your enraged Snape. I really liked the way you rendered the sex scene, also, with its imperfections and tight POV. Good suspense and pacing! What a pleasure.

That's quite a mystery you wove for us!
Somehow you made Hermione annoying yet appealing. How'd you do that?
I enjoyed the Elder Wand lore, as well as the way you left us wondering if it was Harry driving its power hunger all along. *g*
I loved Kreacher's Snape reveal, and my heart sunk at his seeming betrayal. Then, when he turned out to be on Harry's side, I cheered.
I love how it ended, too. Peaceful and calm. And blue. ;)
Nice job! Even if you are on that other team. :P

I just... um... yeah, it's... wow.

I can't say that I saw the end coming at all (but, then again, the only time I've ever figured an ending out was The Red Violin -- therefore, I don't read mysteries), but just dayum, girl!

Newlin was a vindictive little bastard, even more so than Snape, I think, and that's saying something :)

Excellent, well-crafted job! Go Dragons!

I really liked this story, definitely one of the best in the Games so far. My only misgiving was Ginny. I don't buy that she's just in it for the social position her husband provides. At least in HBP, she seems independent and makes things happen for herself. In my opinion, it's more likely that she gets bored or annoyed with the emotional baggage Harry is carrying. But back to your great fic. One question: why isn't Newlin the new master of the Elder Wand after he beats Harry with the Petrificus? When I read that I thought you were letting Davies repeating Voldemort's mistake in making wrong assumptions about the ownership.

I really liked your Newlin. For me, the suspense lay in the question of how much Newlin himself is aware of his past as Snape. In the beginning I thought, he perhaps has flashbacks, but is not sure what to make of them. What really worked for me very well, was his occupation as a historian! It makes sense that Snape would be more than mildly interested in the war, Dumbledore's motivations, everything that happened really, to come to an understanding of his own role as a spy/sacrifice/puppet/manipulator.

Lastly, I also enjoyed your grown-up Harry. He is still flawed, but also mature. And I enjoyed the short glimps of his interaction with his aurors.

An intellegent, compelling fic! Thank you very much,
Krabat

Oh, I loved the ending - the release of hunger and the birth of contentment. *happy sigh* I'm so glad they get to live out their second chances.

"I don't agree," Ron said. "I trust your instincts, mate. I've seen them work too many times in the field to doubt them. You're starting to convince me."
heh. Ron's learned a thing or two since the DH camping trip! :D Awesome!

Well done, teamie! *roars*

Wow. What an interesting and fascinating story. I couldn't stop reading it last night because I had to find out what happened. You really kept me going.

I loved Harry in this, flawed, imperfect, trying to do what was right. And Snape...I have to say I've never thought of that resurrection idea. I love it when someone comes up with something I haven't even thought about. Snape was perfect, and snarky and gray as dusk, but in the end, he was on Harry's side, which was all that counts.

Wow! Wow wow wow. That was my reaction as I finished reading last night. This was so absolutely engrossing it kept me up way past my bedtime but it simply was impossible to stop reading. And today I feel like a zombie but it was so worth it!

Fantastic mystery plot, excellent characterisations, wonderful writing (and especially great dialogue!). I loved what you did with the Elder Wand and I was sure all along that Newlin was Snape, though I couldn't figure out how the hell he could be. And then, wow, what a complex, brilliant way to explain it. And I so loved your meta-ish reference to the Trio's camping trip at the beginning and how it would bore people to tears. *snicker*

Um, I was wondering about something at the end. Would you mind terribly if I emailed you? Just something very minor I'm curious about.

Anyway. Loved this! LOVED. :D
