Ohhhh. I am up past my bedtime, but I couldn't resist finishing this once I'd started. You wrapped up so many loose ends for me, some of which I hadn't even known I wanted wrapped up. I found the part about James loving Lily particularly insightful. (And Harry's tears in response...*wibbles*)
I also really loved this part:
"My boy, how could you think I wouldn't have been there?"
Such a moving scene. I find the dynamic between Dumbledore and Snape so fascinating. Thanks for doing it justice here.
Potter always struck me as a hugger, and sure enough his arms wrapped around me. To feel his body pressed against me, solid and not so much warm as just so there, not a fantasy, not a wish.
Harry is totally a hugger. I liked that he hugged or curled up with the portrait several times over the course of the story, and then finally at the end he got the real thing.
Beautifully done, not just Harry and Snape but all the secondary characters as well.
