The BEST
OK, this was a Snarry masterpiece. I respect your decision to have it be the last--I can't imagine what else could possibly be said any better or more thoroughly or soul-searchingly than this. And all in a lovely, well-written, funny, sad, incredibly moving way. I suppose you could go wildly into some AU universe or cross-over or something to shake up every premise, but the strength of your stories is your unerring sense of Snape, and why tell his story on Mars or something. I am so completely satisfied and delighted with what you have accomplished.
I am so glad that Snape didn't come to life. I loved Harry's interacting with the portrait--the hands touching, taking it off the wall and hugging it, crying on it on the floor--so beautiful. I also loved the image of Snape stalking around all of the portraits in his classroom terrorizing students. And becoming the world's expert on everything, debating with popes, reading every book, writing the definitive textbook series--amazing what you can do if you never sleep. Now that bodes well for the happy reunion--imaging how much shagging they can do when they never sleep ;-) I also loved all of his advice--so spot-on, selfless, loving. And yet, Harry had to make his own mistakes. And live his life. Harry as Headmaster was also brilliant. Sigh. You RULE.
Now just tell us where you will be writing next, and I will dash into any 'verse you're hanging out in to read more.
