I've returned to re-read this fic, because although infidelity fics aren't my thing, this story has clung to me, and, all this time later, I'm still puzzling over Severus's motivation.
If it meant little to him, and he thought it had nothing to do with his relationship to Harry, why did he end it? If it was just old habits from prior to his relationship with Harry - you know, don't knock back an offer - then what made him re-assess it?
Totally understand if you don't feel like discussing Severus's motivations again.
And please accept my heartfelt appreciation for such a beautifully written and thought-provoking story.
