I say that, because I don't quite understand the angst from the readers who wish Harry had found Severus out. It does not shock me that Snape does not know how to love well; he's never had love, really. It does not shock me that he would take advantage of an easy opportunity; he was a Death Eater, after all. It WOULD shock me if he was stupid enough to get caught. He was a spy, for crying out loud! He kept his intent hidden from Voldemort. He had as much to lose here, since it was clear he cared for Harry.
He learned what he needed to learn, and it is more than he ever had before. He did it without hurting Harry, for which he would not forgive himself.
I think it was deft and beautiful, and I'm glad it turned out just the way it did.
