I've read most of Team Dragon's entries, one way or another, and this is one of my top three favorites. I love the way you write; it's a rare thing to find, that a story pulls you along, rich with detail so that you can see the colors, sense texture, empathize with characters, and not really notice the writing itself, which has just become a pure vehicle.
The premise isn't one I'd seek out--but my god, did you make it work. I bought the circumstances--Snape's dilemma, Harry's obsession and his deterioration to less than savory means, and oh how I loved that Snape caught him at it. The dragons and phoenix gags made me smile, as did the other 'ladies' of Knockturn Alley, and I read about Draco and Ginny with unfettered glee. I was so happy to see Stan, Percy and Arthur here too.
You captured my heart and mind from the very first paragraph to the end. The first time I read it I had to continually go back and 'remind' myself that I was proofing, as the story put me on auto-pilot and made me forget everything but the world you'd created.
Kudos on a fantastic story. You are DRAGON PAR EXCELLENCE, ANDERS!!! ROARRR!!!
