*is still speechless in awe* Phoaaa~ What a fic! Really! Wow! Just amazing! I think i'd retell the entire story if i wanted to list everything i loved about this! I love all of the little cameos throughout the fic of different characters. Harry thinking he was in hell was such a wonderful and haunting idea and Dursley as the devil fit all too well. Harry and Severus are so wonderful together in this and i had a little squeefest towards the end~ (Yay for pushy bottoms! ^____^) AND THE ENDING! Oh my god, the ending! You just killed me with that! I'm flailing again just thinking about it! Waaaa~ Perfect! I've been reading a lot of Gothic and Romance period fiction for class lately and this really hit the spot as i was hankering for some more~ ^_____^ ~♥♥♥♥ x a million!

ohhh, lovely, as always! I got goosebumps both from the sadness and the sultry scenes; yummm.

The only bit that hit me as "off" was that Severus gave Harry Neville's shoes when they escaped, but if Neville had died earlier, why would they still be out? Other than that tiny bit, I adored every word (glomps)

A nice twist on the gothic genre, and I liked all the cameos by other canon characters. But my favorite part was definitely the ending twist, even though it also made me sad.

Very interesting idea, I enjoyed it. it was sad about Neville, but it's nice to know that he was a kind ghost and that Harry would've not likely survived if it wasn't for Neville. His dad should be proud :)

What an absolutely fascinating AR. I love historical romance novels, and this fit right into that genre.

Poor Harry! You really had Vernon do a number on him, but I think it's not that much of a stretch from canon to do so.

And the ending? Wow.

What a fun story! It's Gothic romance at its finest, with creepy characters, dark secrets, and lost loves - though not for Harry and Severus. The love between them is very sweet, and the twist at the end is a treat!

Oh ... wow! Brava!! This is just wonderful. And I actually got goosebumps reading the last line.

I tend to be wary of AR fics -- I suppose because I've grown so attached to the characters as I've come to know them that things can feel uncomfortably jangly and "off" when they're deprived of their magic and usual settings. Yet somehow, you've made everything feel exactly right -- not a jangle or "off" feeling in sight. It's so beautifully written, and the characters are so neatly and perfectly transplanted -- it almost feels like this could be where they really belong and Hogwarts is the AR.

Love the compassion of Hermione's parents, and Filch's star turn, too. Thanks for this -- it's one I'll read again and again.

I very much liked this fic... woohoo!! especially since I usually don't particularly like alternative reality fictions..
BUT I just can't believe that Severus found Harry's prostate only after 5 years!!!

If a person ever needed a story to read to hate Vernon Dursley, this is the story to read.

When read from Harry's point of view, in the beginning, as he thought himself a ghost. It was so sad. Harry thought himself a ghost and his uncle the devil.

I hope they hang the bastard.

Loved the ending. Though I'm kinda shocked that Harry isn't still suffering from nightmares. That kind of abuse, for that many years, it would leave a mark on the psyche far more damaging than what is alluded to.

But maybe he was healed with Severus' love?

Amazing story. I love this kind of historical settings. That last turn is brilliant :D But I somewhat want to chide Sev. Kept him 5 years to find Harry's prostate! Guh! :D

Wow. This was so intriguing. I really like AR setting and you did a fantastic job placing the characters. Poor, poor Harry. I have to say I really didn't expect the very end at all, so you did something right there. Fascinating read.

Wow! This was more than awesome! I like very few AUs, but you kept all the characters IC and the relationships between them similar to canon, yet you managed to make it all original and thrilling and delicious - Chapeau!

I love the tone of this story! The creepiness of Dursley Hall was done incredibly well and I loved Snape's attraction and caring for Harry. Also, you just about killed me at the end! What a great twist!

Wonderful story. Thank you so much for sharing!

I have such a soft spot for gothic Victoriana, and this was a lovely example. The last line was a lovely way to jolt us back to one of my favourite exchanges in the story:

"I don't believe in ghosts."

"That don't matter. Not when they believe in you."

Very nicely done.

Nice job! I had liked the beginning bits you've posted in the team comm a few months back, and I'm so glad I now got to read the rest of it. I must say, I was quite surprised by the last line... what a kicker! Go Team Phoenix :D

Oh. Wow.

That ending was so brilliant; it sent chills through me!

The story as a whole was brilliant as well, with a great romance and Harry's innocence was so touching; I absolutely loved the Sleeping Beauty bit.

OMG! You totally blew me away with the ending! That was ... that was ... you know, I don't think I can come up with words to describe what it was. I was simly blown away! It seemed through the entire story that ghosts were being disproved, and you end it with a real ghost. Goodness woman! I love you! So clever. You win - hands down! *bows humbly*
