So true. I've tried to explain to people for years that I think one of the reasons the HP books appeal to many people is because Harry is a sort of 'every man' -- he's defined, he's got character, but not quite enough, so that the reader can put themselves into his position quite easily because there's nothing in his character to conflict with their personality. if that makes sense.
He'd carry a pocket size Hebridian Black around with him as a lighter. Fantastic. : )
