Hello, everyone!
This was a spectacular selection of fics, and a banner year for the number of entries! Thanks to everyone who participated. This is a great fandom.
As you all know, djin7 & reddwarfer are both mods at Walking the Plank. aliciamasters (that's me!) is lucky enough to be the headmistress. Therefore, we would be honored and overjoyed if you decided to host your fic at Walking the Plank, now that the fest is over.
I have created two open series under djin7's name, one for Team Wartime and one for Team Postwar.
If you've never hosted at Walking the Plank, it is a moderated community of Snarry fanfiction and fanart.
Here's where you sign up for an account. You'll love it: I promise!
These are the submission guidelines. In addition, we have walkthroughs created to help you figure out how to post.
Once it's up, reply to this comment, and I will take it through the submissions process and add it to the series, so that everyone who followed the Snarry Games can find your teammates' stories together. All your entry needs to say is I'm ready! (It can say more if you want, though. ) If you are struggling, or need help getting your entry up on the site, let me know. We'll work something out. My e-mail is aliciamastersATgmailDOTcom.
Here are a few FAQs about an Open Series.
Will adding my story to the series mean it will look like DJ created it?
Absolutely not. An open series is one where many creators can contribute. It will show up under your creator name, and your creator profile. It will also show up under the series, but it will still list you as the creator.
What if I choose to take the story off Walking the Plank?
The fic will automatically delete from the series if you remove it from the archive. You don't need to worry.
What if I have questions, or I'm confused about the process?
You can e-mail me, reply to this post, or e-mail wtp.moderators@gmail.com. I want to make this fun and easy for you! WTP is very proud to be loosely affiliated with such a great event.
What if the moderators at Walking the Plank do not approve my story?
Should such a thing happen, it would include corrections within the letter that will probably fix the problem. You have all helped each other with very thorough betas. THE MOST COMMON REJECTION IS BECAUSE THE WARNINGS ARE NOT COMPLETE. It is the most likely reason you would have anything other than an acceptance. If you check your warnings, and preview the submission to make sure you are happy with it, chances are extremely slim there will be anything to worry about. Besides: we will review your submission up to three times. Don't worry!
Am I forced to post my story on Walking the Plank?
Not at all. However, I'm not above begging. Or bribes. Or stalking. I think it might be easier to comply. Besides, won't it be nice to be housed with your teammates in some fashion?
What makes Walking the Plank special?
Other than its lovely mods? We believe strongly that all submissions are the creator's, and that we hold them in trust. To avoid a meltdown like Detention, we have many moderators, and we have a very open policy. That leads to a feel of cooperation unlike any that I've experienced until now, and which you saw reflected in the wonderful people here at Snarry Games. We maintain Walking the Plank in trust for all the fen, and we have volunteers from many countries. You can read all about Walking the Plank here.
Are you fascinated by Walking the Plank? We are always looking for volunteers, both as mods and technical support. Here are the volunteering guidelines. I was very lucky to be a mod on this contest, and I'm amazed at the talent in our fandom! Meanwhile, I hope you will consider WTP a home for your art.If you agreed to archiving, but you don't have time to upload, I will contact you to arrange a mod upload. I'd love to have a complete set of Champions. (Hint, hint, Earlier Champions! We still have a few stories & artwork missing!) REMEMBER: if something is stopping you, please feel free to contact me. Maybe we can work it out.
Thank you for letting me be a part of this experience! I hope I see you at Walking the Plank soon!
