Challenge 41: Bane

Original poster: medawyn

Happy Thursday, one and all. I hope everyone has had a lovely week, despite the inclement weather in some parts of the world. Those of you who are housebound by frozen stuff might appreciate a bit of a distraction, so I present this week's prompt...

Challenge 41: Bane
Dictionary.com lists the following definitions for the word bane:

  1. A person or thing that ruins or spoils
  2. a deadly poison (often used in combination, as in the names of poisonous plants: wolfsbane, henbane)
  3. death, destruction, ruin
  4. obsolete that which causes death or destroys life

This week write one (or more) drabbles inspired by the word bane.
