A/N: “Life is Beautiful” by Sixx AM. I don’t believe that this song came up, it’s so wonderful. Since it's Severus' b-day I thought I should write something depressing for him =)


“Look at me!” Snape rasped and pulled Harry closer to him. The memories continued to leak from Snape’s eyes, as tears welled up in Harry’s. Harry felt the soft brush of Snape’s mind on his, whispered words of love and one last lingering caress.

After viewing the memories Harry knew what to do. As he walked through the forest he turned over the resurrection stone. His parents, Sirus and Lupin were all there to help support him to the end. He felt almost at peace with his coming end. Severus was lost to him all he has are his memories.

Snape started to a sudden pulling sensation similar to a portkey. His last memory was looking up at Harry, and breaking inside as he knew he was sending his lover to his death. He looked around now and realized he was in the forest. Looking down at himself he realized he was no longer corporeal. In between the trees he saw other spirits, spirits of people he once knew, loved or hated. In their midst walked his Harry, head held high as we walked to his death. Snape moved to intercept Harry, he needed to see him one last time.

As he reached Voldemort’s camp, Harry made to drop the stone, but out of the corner of his eyes he saw a robed figure swish past a tree. He dared not look, a sob lodged in his chest choking him. Out of the trees, with the same grace as he possessed in life, swooped Severus. Harry now understood the powerful lure of the stone. He gasped a breath as Severus strode closer and choked out,
“I can’t do it.”
Severus came to stand before him, “You can’t live until you die”
Harry nodded, dropped the stone whispering, “Life is beautiful”
