“Crash!”

Severus jumped up from his desk. That had been the third crash in 5 minutes and while Harry had conquered his childhood clumsiness, he could still be a bit of a klutz when not wearing his glasses. Hearing another thump, he hurried into the bedroom.

Snape snorted on entering. Harry was sitting on the bed surrounded by debris. “Potter, what is your problem,” he asked in exasperation. Pulling out his wand me banished the broken glass and restored the books and lamp to the nightstand where they belonged.

“I can’t find my glasses,” Harry shot back with a pout.

“What do you mean, you can’t find your glasses? They’re where you always put them, in the nightstand.” Opening the drawer, he reached in and came out with, a baby rattle. He stared at the tiny thing; bow trailing from the handle and then turned shocked eyes to his husband.

Harry’s eyes, brilliant behind the glasses he had hidden in his robes, glistened and his smile was soft. “I thought we might talk to Albus about that extra room sometime today,” he said gently.

Severus carefully placed the rattle back in the drawer and answered with a smile, “Yes, let’s.”
