From a moment to another they parted from the crowd, flooding the Regency Park on a sunny afternoon.
The woman was obviously Muggle, so were the two girls. The older one holding her right hand, the younger resting in Sirius’ arms.
They stopped for a moment, the woman gesturing toward a group of children. Sirius smiled at her words, putting his hand absentmindedly on the woman’s swollen belly. A boy about eight years old and a large brown dog left the crowd, running across the grass at speed, straight toward the woman and Sirius.
Like in trance Harry watched the rapturous look in the boy’s eyes and the warm affection with which Sirius’ hand messed the boy’s hair.
“Here!” All of a sudden Severus materialised next to Harry’s elbow, thrusting a generous portion of ice cream under Harry’s nose. “That place at Fortescue’s is dreadful. Chocolate with walnuts, right?”
“Yeah… right.”
“Harry? Something wrong?”
‘Just spotting my godfather the first time since two years.’
“I…” Harry looked in Sirius’ direction, finding only an group of strange people. Shaking his head, he turned back toward Snape.
“Nothing.”
