Challenge: #70 - Spinner's End
Author’s notes: This is set after DH. Decide for yourself how Severus faked his death. I can’t possibly explain that in 100 words. :-)
The door swung open revealing the familiar room. Heart pounding, Severus reached for his lover’s hand. “Harry, I can’t do this.”
It was one thing to suffer through living here with the numbness of Occlumency guarding him but, if he allowed himself to feel . . .
“Sev, anywhere else people will know . . .”
There were reasons, but he could already see the shadow of his father, the faintest stain on the wall from the flying blood. He shivered, remembering. He sought solace in the only thing that had ever relieved his pain: those emerald eyes.
“Perhaps it is time to reveal the truth.”
