Harry watched the raindrops sparkling prettily like his tears of the day before.

Severus had chucked him out. "Whatever you're looking for it's not here, Potter," he'd yelled, his sallow face for once flushed.

All Harry had said was, "I care for you, Severus."

It was too much, too soon, for the suspicious, antisocial git. The worst thing was that it hurt. It hurt more than it should for the mere beginnings of attachment. It hurt like his heart had been pulled from his chest. It hurt like separation from a lover.

It felt like the loss of love.
