"Why, I never." Peter laughed affecting the hint of a southern drawl as she accused him of trying to check her out that first night. She was fun, in the way that he liked. Smart and happy to tell him he was an idiot - honestly it was the sort of thing that he couldn't help but be drawn to, as much as maybe that shouldn't be the case - here he was all the same. At least it was something he didn't have to think about too much right then - he was sick after all. This was no time to go around thinking about potential crushes on no-nonsense nurses.
It was better really, talking with Claire - having a few moments of the day that weren't just him worrying over Gwen or Miles or Peter, or any one else who had come down with this sickness. But to have her teasing him like things were mostly normal was kind of exactly what he needed.
He made a little face when she reminded him that she was still sleeping on the couch. "We're going to have to get you a bed soon. It's not a bad couch as far as couches go, but I think you could probably use a little more space." He nearly made a joke about how she could have him if things took a turn, but that was a little on the dark side. So instead it was this. "Maybe a door to close too." So he and Miles weren't just wandering into her space - if she wanted to stay that was.
