Peter nodded, he knew she was right - managing the symptoms was about all most of them could do at this point a cure felt like a much bigger ask, considering both their resources and just how many of them were sick. Maybe it was the same thing for all of them, but with so many different symptoms it was difficult to say for certain whether or not that was true.
He couldn't help laughing though when she gave him her final analysis, "Well you know us hero types." He said with a grin. The world might have gone a bit hazy but Peter was keeping his spirits up. The doors would open again and he'd get someone to bring him back some glasses. The world didn't have to end because he was suddenly a normal human again. No matter how deep the loss of his abilities might feel.
"I suppose you'll go on to form a new society when we're all gone - those of you normal types, who were blessed enough not to have to deal with any of this. Remember us well when you do." He was joking mostly, because well - sometimes you just had to make a joke because the other option was facing a reality that was more than a little bit terrifying.
