It was easier to be Tony Stark in a place that didn't require his constant attention. Well, it wasn't like Starklandia needed constant attention, but it was such a small, fledgling little place and if things were going to run properly it really did need help and nudges along the way. Tony had taken on the role without really thinking about it or asking for it and sometimes he didn't even want it but he knew that he wouldn't want anyone else to have it, either.
But here he didn't have to be that, he could just be himself. Something a little closer to what he was in New York when he allowed himself to be carefree. It helped, of course, that Steve was here with him. He liked having someone to focus his attentions on and spoil if at all possible. It was simply his way. So when he returned it was with two coffees and a bag of pastries that seemed a little too full.
"You should get out more," Tony agreed. "Sometimes it's nice. That bird is cute, but it's not staying on the table if we plan on eating."
