"I had a goldfish when I was little," Gwen said. "Her name was Hannah. Actually, I think there were about five or six of them but my dad didn't want to tell me he had to flush the previous one." She could laugh about it now but her dad probably had made the right call wen Gwen was a very protective fish mom at age four.
Natasha informing her that she was in charge of this 'mission' to find her a Pokemon had Gwen's eyebrows raising. She'd never really been in charge of anything so long as she'd been Spider-Woman. As Gwen Stacy she'd head up school projects and things often, but Spider-Woman worked alone, and in the past even when she'd done things with Captain America she'd always defaulted to Samantha.
"Okay," she said, more to herself to sort of get into the mindset that yes, she could head up a Pokemon mission. It wasn't like they were off to fight the King Pin or anything. "So, okay, like I said, they're all kind of elementally based in the things they can do. Mine's kind of an exception because she's a fairy type, but that's not really important right now. I'm not an expert or anything but there's kinda two ways to get a Pokemon. You either have to catch one in a Pokeball, or they just kind of bond with you and want to come with you. I don't think we have to worry about getting attacked or anything. People battle with them but that's not something we'll likely have to deal with." Gwen pulled the ball out of her pocket.
"Here, I'll show you mine." She tossed it and once the ball hit the ground it popped open, and out came her Sylveon. "Hi," she said, and waved to her. The fairy-fox like creature made a sound and smiled a them. "She just came to me. I named her Sandy West."
