"Yeah, she's awesome," Gwen agreed. Both the Jan she knew here and the one from her world. She'd been really grateful after Jan left that Tony had recognized her loneliness and taken her in. And he'd done it in a way that didn't really call a hell of a lot of attention to really anything at all. It almost wasn't even a question, just sort of an idea that Gwen jumped on. The transition wasn't hard at all, other than her giving Steve a bit of a hard time at first. But that was just because she loved Tony so much and she wanted to make sure he was treating him right. As soon as that became clear, she'd kinda backed off the broody teen daughter attitude to just giving him shit every now and then because it was fun.
"Mm, parts of it are great. A lot of women running the super hero department, which is awesome," she said. The rest of her life was kind of a dumpster fire but since she wasn't in that world anymore she'd gotten a break from that stress. At least no one here thought she was a murderer.
"Oh, yeah," she said, when Natasha asked if she'd known the version of her who'd been there before. "I guess that's pretty weird, right? To know that some version of yourself has been here before, but it's not like.. you? Mind trip, I'd think. It's part of why I kind of.. I guess I've given you space? I don't want to project the sort of relationship I had with that Natasha onto you." She placed the cheese on the bread so it could melt a bit from the heat. "She and I were close, but I don't want to make you feel like I expect anything. It's like starting over, right?"
