Well, you know, Sev's got his own saving-people thing, whenever he can, and apparently he's developed a saving-animals thing, too, as long as they aren't potions ingredients or annoying little toads brought into the classroom by dunderheaded students.
The man's a marshmallow, I tell ya, one of those marshmallows that's been held over the flames too long and has a crusty, burnt exterior--but the inside is pure goo.
Hey, it's canon. Even if the horse ain't.

So, Severus wants to see Lizard World. Charity does not seem particularly enthused about Lizard World, but love (and self-interest) makes necessary compromises. ;-)

Really, I think the lizards are the best part of this artwork. I'm especially proud of the lizards.

Severus was the big hit of the Magic Convention Cruise!
All the magicians were amazed and impressed with his levitation trick!
Watch it being drawn HERE!
I'm having computer problems with the heat, but Severus was counting on me to give him a proper holiday! How could I let him down? I'm giving him my holiday.

I found
my tablet Monday so no ArtPad fun this time, sorry.

ArtPad Process
I have 2 last minute entries.
First one first. I have an excuse for this, I really have.
Godson (12yo): Have you drawn anything for that contest thing yet?
Me: The Snape Art Contest? Not yet.
Godson: What was the theme this time?
Me: What would be a good job for him.
Godson: That's obvious. Chimney sweeper.
Me: ??
Godson: He always wears black.
Me: *scratcheshead*
So you should blame him for this:

Because he's got a really nice voice--how many hundreds of times are we told it's "silky"?--and we see in HBP that he can sing, I think Severus does pretty well at the karaoke bar. ;-) Don't you know he's still standing, better than he ever did, looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid!
Bonus points to those who recognize the song which Severus is singing in the picture. :-D
(My process was a mess, and the final version mashed up the text, so I'm not bothering with the ArtPad link this time.)

I was quite nervous about it but we got a lot of awesome entries in the end.
After reading and counting all the comments (even those left on the feed),
I proudly announce the winner of the May SNARC "Severus In Love" contest:
That hamster-like pouch, possessive posture and adorably suspicious glance rock!
Your prize will be some choco-galleons (see userpic ;)). I'll put on a post for you
today on my IJ where you can leave your address screened.
Special mention (I know there is no such thing but still :)) goes to
a tad sad but lovely and brilliant Snape ♥ Spock pic.
See you in June SNARC contest!

SNARC May

Here's my (non-funny but timely!) entry for May snarc, Snape in Love, entitled "Half-Bloods"

Yes, young Snape was in love with Spock. Who wasn't?
After I finished this, I realized it was highly unlikely Snape ever saw a color television. Oh, well.
Lack of technique, and Spock's full hand, here:

If the rules didn't say to keep it clean, I might've shown a bit more variety in the student fantasies. ;-) How disappointed they are to discover that detention is only detention...
You can view my slower-than-molasses Artistic Process here.
P.S. - Can we add instructions to the FAQ, or somewhere, about how to save a copy of one's work on ArtPad? It took me a lot of clicking around to discover that we have to do a Print Screen and edit/crop it in our own image editor and save the file in there.

First thing first: thanks to
the_bitter_word for the very inspiring
prompt for the April contest. I loved and enjoyed all the awesome entries.
I still can't believe my flying Snapey Poppins won.
And now I have to set the theme for the next contest.
Canon!Snape's true love is sad but here we have a chance to change that.
Fandom set him up with all the imaginable (and unimaginable) Canon characters,
OMCs, OFCs and even more... *shudder*
Don't tell me you didn't think it hilarious at least sometimes *wink*
I'm an obsessed dedicated Snarry shipper and I know
there are a lot of funny aspects of that couple but it would be fun to see all the
possibilities you can come up with. Who can win Severus' heart? A collegue?
A student? A fellow Death Eater? His Dark or Light Lord? Male? Female?
Centaur? Or only his potions?
Rules are the usual. ArtPad is fun but every kind of drawing would be OK even stick figures.
All we need is laugh, let your humour out and win the prize!
(No porn and no photomanip pls.) The contest will last until June 1.
Here is what I think about the thing:

Without Darcy Snape, it was a hard decision, but Snapey Poppins was truly made of win. The winner of April snarc is:
MAJMUNKA
Thank you to those who submitted so many amazing entries.

I recently finished The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and was inspired to quickly draw Snape in the scene where Huck watches the Duke and the King practice the sword fight in Richard III. Here it is, serving as a mid-contest reminder:

Now with ArtPad, to see how a real non-artist does it.
The text: It didn't take me long to make up my mind that these liars warn't no kings nor dukes at all, but just low-down humbugs and frauds. But I never said nothing, never let on; kept it to myself; it's the best way; then you don't have no quarrels, and don't get into no trouble.
Literary Snape ends May 2. There are already some great entries, but please don't hesitate to put Snape in any book you want. Because if you're a true Snape obsessive, you'll even find him described in Huckleberry Finn.
