Here are the things I have written about Severus Snape and related subjects to date: essays, musings, rants, etc. I am also going to include a list of some of my fanfiction, because sometimes my fiction is more meta than my meta! I post mostly as ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif)
bohemianspirit but occasionally I may post when I am logged in as severus_evans, which is the name of the main character of my Severus-centric AU epic. ;-) Either way, I'm Bohemianspirit.

A Big Man: The Savaging and Salvaging of Severus Snape - 10-16-07 Sums up my take on the moral character of Severus Snape. If you read only one essay by me, this would be the one to read.

Creative Meta: Severus and Lily: The Way They REALLY Would Have Been - 6-25-08 - A short fic, "Childhood's End," exploring how I think the relationship between Severus and Lily most likely would have played out, Severus given up his Death Eater associations and had he ended up marrying Lily.
My View of Severus, and of Severus in Fanon - 6-5-08 - This started as a few notes to reply to Torino's question of the week about Severus in Fanon, and turned into an essay covering my views (to date) about the character in general as well as about how he is depicted in fanon.
You Have Used Me: Severus Snape, Albus Dumbledore, Betrayal and Trust - 3-29-08 - In considering the relationship between Severus Snape and Albus Dumbledore, two things become clear: Severus trusted Dumbledore, and Dumbledore betrayed that trust, time and again. Written for the March 2008 Challenge, "Snape and Dumbledore."
Road Trip - 2-14-08 - Severus, now known as Phoenix and living post-war in Duluth, Minnesota, has a hard time controlling his temper on a road trip to Minneapolis with the kiddies. A short fic written for the Valentine's Day party and for the February 2008 Challenge, "Severus and Love."
Whoop-dee-doo, I'm Lily Sue - 2-14-08 - A bit of Creative Meta on the subject of Severus Snape and Lily Evans during their student years at Hogwarts. Based on "Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee," from Grease, written for the Valentine's Day party and for the February 2008 Challenge, "Severus and Love."
Severus the Teacher: A Real-life Parallel Suggesting That He Was More Than a Nasty Bastard - 1-29-08 - In which I compare Severus Snape with one of my real-life teachers and suggest that, outside of the Harry-centric Universe, some people might have found Severus not only likeable but lovable. Posted for the January '08 challenge.
Briefly musing on my take on Severus and Lily - 1-3-08 - In response to the December 2007 Challenge on "Severus and Lily," I posted a couple of short excerpts from one of my stories, "Light Between the Cracks," to offer my (brief) perspective on two topics: 1. Did Severus spend his entire life pining after Lily? 2. Putting the guilt issues over Snape's Worst Memory into perspective.
November Challenge: Two Great Snape Escapes - 11-28-07 - Two theories about how Severus might have escaped his seeming fate at the end of Deathly Hallows: "Escape Number One: Why the F*** Would He Let it Happen in the First Place?" and "Escape Number Two: After the Tears Have Fallen, What Happens Next?" The latter features a snippet from a fic-in-progress, "Phoenix, Reborn."
A letter from Severus Snape, in which he clarifies a few points about his reputation - 11-13-07 - Meta/essay in the form of a letter from Severus. What I think he would have said about the Doe Patronus and Lily's marriage to James Potter. ;-)
Severus Snape: More Snark than Dark - 11-3-07 - Short musing based on a comment that emerged in conversation.
Sir Ian McKellen on understanding one's character - 10-24-07 - Applies the wisdom of the awesome Sir Ian to our WTF-ing about why JKR doesn't seem to understand the character she wrote.
Portrait Scenarios: How the final scene should have been written - 10-4-07 - One way that JKR could have included Severus' portrait in the Headmaster's Office scene and given resolution to the Severus-Harry arc in just a few sentences.
Abandoned his post??? - 9-25-07 - In which I question how Severus fleeing an attack by his colleagues constitutes "abandoning his post" as Headmaster of Hogwarts.
How tall is Severus, anyway? - 9-23-07 - Fanfiction tends to assume he was tall and imposing, but the books seem to suggest he was not especially tall, though not exceptionally short, either.

The Many Faces of Severus Snape: LonelyNerd!Snape - 8-24-07 - Musings on how nerdly Severus Snape's core personality really was, especially as a youth, even if he learned how to put on a more polished act as an adult.

Severus Evans: An Alternative Life of Severus Snape - If Severus had been the father of Lily's son, his life would have been an entirely different story... maybe. Severus as he might have been--and, perhaps, as he really was. If you think Dumbledore was a Machiavellian Rat Bastard, you may enjoy this story. ;-)
