Figured I ought to do one of these. I have a habit of posting essay-length comments now and then, so a couple of these are links to the original posts to which my comments are attached.
Detailed Comments on Janus' entry on Severus and Werewolves - My response to the Challenge (now that it's passed and posting an essay is redundant).
Detailed Comments on Severus and Harry Potter Challenge - my response to the Challenge.
Rants and Musings: Severus Snape and the Doctrine of the Calvinists (with apologies to Hemmens) - A ranting look at how the pseudo-Calvinist worldview that Hemmens argues informs the books could intersect with the possible worldviews of individual characters (one in particular, naturally).
Did They Have to Die? On Sev's possible moral failings after the Harrycrux revelation - Something I cooked up on the fly, and am not entirely sure I agree with anymore. Still uncertain.
Sev's Own Personal Columbine? - Something I was inspired to write after reading about the Winnenden school shooting in Germany; reflections on the effects of bullying and how we might be able to understand Sev's turn to the DEs. ETA: Was just rereading Jodel's "Potions Master" essay, and noticed that she draws the same conclusion. So credit due there too.
Response to Janus' essay on Sev and Voldemort (March 2009 Challenge I) - My initial response to the vision of Severus presented in Janus' entry for the Severus and Voldemort Challenge.
March Challenge: More Thoughts on Sev and Voldemort (March 2009 Challenge II) - My own official response to the Severus and Voldemort Challenge.
Random Thoughts on the Prank - An attempt to clarify my take on the infamous Werewolf Incident - just what Sirius Black can be accused of and why.
