If he could, Severus Snape might choose something like this:

Sev's Last Laugh

But as an experienced spy, he would never blow his cover. ;-)

It's May 2nd, eleven years later, and somewhere in the world Severus Snape is leading a quiet life, enjoying his freedom, and not giving a flying hoot about the Wizarding World he left behind.

...because Afterlife is much more interesting when it takes place on this side of the veil.

  • Bwuahaha

I think he'd go with 'BRB, don't wait up'
    • Heh. I like that one, too. Maybe we could have a TombstoneFest sometime, here on Snapedom. ;-)
  • Hehehe! Awesome tombstone. *g*
  • Very nice work on that one! LOL!
    • Thanks! Though now the idea of Severus looking with scorn upon people who would still believe he's dead, even though they didn't find his body and buried an empty coffin, makes me want to write a story about Severus watching his own funeral, a la Tom Sawyer. ;-) But it's probably been done by now.
  • Hahaha, brilliant!
  • I love this! Very clever - and, of course, there is no proof at all in the text that Severus is dead. No body, no funeral, no ghost, no portrait -
    • Thank you. Whether or not we go with Authorial Intention--ded, ded, ded--it still remains true that if Severus were to survive, this would undoubtedly be his response to those who couldn't figure out, based on such details as a lack of dead body, that he might have survived.
  • Oh, it's perfect. It made me laugh out loud and it's so true.
    • Thank you! I laughed when I was typing the words, too. ;-) And yes, this is exactly what Severus would think of thick-skulled Gryffindors people who would not so much as question the absence of his body and "bury" him anyway!
  • Thank you for this cheerful image!

"... makes me want to write a story about Severus watching his own funeral, a la Tom Sawyer. ;-) But it's probably been done by now."

That's no reason not to do one anyway! :-)
    • Oh, you're welcome! Glad it cheered you up. I needed some cheering after viewing several "memorial" entries. Canon intention aside, canon as written leaves us plenty of loopholes--and it's just plain more interesting, from a storyteller's point of view, to work with a Survivor!Severus than DedDedDed!Severus.

I'll have to see if the Muse grants me anything with that fic idea...
