Welcome to

snape_rarepairs, a community devoted to the lesser known, underrepresented pairings (both slash and het) involving Severus Snape.This community originally resided on livejournal, but is now located on Insane Journal and Livejournal.

Any Snape pairing is welcome here EXCEPT for Snape/Harry, Snape/Lupin and Snape/Hermione. Particularly encouraged are the pairings that don't have communities, archives or mailing lists of their own. For instance, while you are certainly allowed to post Snape/Draco or Snape/Lucius here, there are already communities and an excellent archive (Black
and Silver) devoted to these pairings. But where do you go if you have a sudden jones to read Snape/Seamus? What would be the ideal community for posting that Snape/Slughorn story that's been burning a hole in your hard drive? Hopefully, the answer is here.

Community Rules

This community invites fanfic, fan poetry and fanart of all ratings, icons, banners, photomanips and other graphics, as well as essays, recs and on-topic discussion related to any Snape pairing except for "the big three". You are also welcome to post notices for the creation of any communities, archives, mailing lists, or ficathons related to Snape rarepairs. Fic searches are allowed; however, PLEASE try

hpstoryfinders first and only resort to us if they can't help you.

Do NOT post: RPG ads, spam, intro posts, flames, wank, messages to the moderator, or off-topic discussion not related to a Snape rarepair. Bashing of characters, ships, slash/het, etc. as well as attacks on posters or hostile/rude behavior of any kind is all STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.

Last but definitely not least: you must be over the age of legal majority in your country to post, read or view material rated NC-17. Violators of this rule will be summarily banned.

Monthly Challenges

Every month, two challenges will be posted: a featured pairing, and a featured theme. You are welcome to post fic, poetry, art, graphics and essays responding to one, the other, or both together. You can ALWAYS post non-challenge-related work at any time. You may respond to any past challenge at any time; the only danger is you might miss getting on the master list of challenge responses that the mod will post at the end of the month. If the work you are posting is related to a challenge, include which challenge it's responding to in your story/art info.

The challenges are to get you thinking and writing/drawing only; they're not meant to be a contest, and there are no rules or specific guidelines to limit what you can do.
