This story actually hurt me to read. Like, I had to get up and go wash the dishes before I could formulate a review.
I loved your interpretation of Harry, first off. I could so see his marriage to Ginny crumbling, and both of them being so stubborn and set in their ways that neither wanted to expend the energy to change the status quo. Harry swallowing his pride enough to seek assistence for his problem was a wonderful touch at showing his maturity.
Then there is Severus, so "willing" to offer help and even pinning Harry into a vow of silence. Their interaction was hot and oddly touching. Severus letting Harry remain overnight just capped the scene, as did Harry's appreciation and pleasur at his aching muscles. I enjoyed every bit of it!
At the end... OMG. I felt sucker punched, which I am sure was your expectation. To hear how cold and dimissive Severus and Draco were over Harry twenty years after the war? So, so in character. But the fact that they are making him pay for it, destroying his life and his happiness after he finally sacrificed everything in order to get it? I want to cry for him.
If, mystery author, you are on my f-list? I demand a sequel. Please? Please?! Please! Keep Draco away from Harry and for gods sake don't alienate him from his children! I have vile images in my head of this turning into a death fic after Harry learns how badly his childhood and his adulthood were manipulated. *cries a thousand tears of desolation*
