For me I definitely want Happily Ever After or something like it (for example I love Vestiges by <ljuser name"Empathic_Siren"> http://thetwobroomsticks.slashcity.net/siren/Vestiges.html but that isn't exactly a HEA). I didn't used to care as much as long as the fic was well written but I found life in general is depressing and complicated enough, I didn't want it in fiction as well.
I love comedies and tend to like romance as well but mostly I like my fic extreme (in both emotionally and plot-wise). I find that I like to just relax with my fics without having too think too much or have it remind me too much of everyday reality so I tend to stay way from fics that develop really slowly.
