Harry had no idea how alluring he was. A lot of the other diners weren't being discreet in their scrutiny of both of them and Severus felt a sense of pride that it was him here with Harry and not anyone else. Severus spent most of the meal trying and failing to stare at the exquisite specimen across the table from him. His eyes were his most striking feature; they weren't just green, they seemed to encompass every hue of that colour from aquamarine to a deep emerald and they were flecked with little dots of silver and gold. Severus had never seen eyes as beautiful as Harry's before; not even Lily's eyes had come close. Harry's lips were full and plump, a perfect Cupid's bow of raspberry red.
Severus' groin tightened as he watched Harry wrap those luscious lips around his straw to drink his cola. It wasn't such a large leap to imagine them wrapped around his cock and even though they were in the middle of a crowded restaurant, Severus indulged in a little daydream: Harry would drop his fork and dive beneath the table to retrieve it, but while he was under there he would see the bulge in Severus' trousers and wouldn't be able to resist reaching out to touch it. His caresses would be tentative at first, but then he would grow bolder and undo Severus' buttons and zip. He wouldn't kiss Severus' cock, not straightaway. Harry would stare for a while before touching Severus' bare cock and then his head would lean down and then he would–
"Can I get you anything else?" The waiter's return burst the bubble of Severus' daydream and Severus knew Harry wasn't quite ready to put any of it into reality quite yet. Severus had never seduced anyone so innocent before; it wasn't his usual preference. but with Harry he found he quite liked the idea that no one else had touched him. Harry would be his in a way no lover before him had ever been.
"We'd like to see your dessert menu," said Severus before Harry had a chance to object. Severus had invited Harry out to dinner and no dinner was complete without a dessert.
"Very good, sir." The waiter removed their plates from the table and returned a few moments later with the sweet menu. Harry was toying with his napkin, his eyes lowered, delicate fingers fondling the linen and the sight of those hands caressing the napkin was doing little to quell Severus' earlier arousal. He shifted in his seat, widening his legs to better accommodate his erection, thankful that the tablecloth hid his lower body.
Severus had never felt so out of control before. He had never felt such want as he stared across at the boy in front of him. Severus wanted to sweep everything from the table, lay Harry down upon it like some sort of ancient sacrifice before taking him again and again. The desire coiled deep within his belly and chest and Severus wondered if you could go mad with yearning for something you couldn't have. Not yet... He knew Harry wasn't ready yet and he didn't want to scare him away too soon. If Severus didn't know better he'd think Harry had cast some sort of spell on him.
"I thought you'd be angry." Harry's voice broke into his thoughts and Severus belatedly realised that Harry had been talking for some time and Severus hadn't heard him. He shook his head and brought his mind back to the conversation.
"Sorry, Harry. What was that? Why would I be angry?"
"Well, it would affect how I could do the work, wouldn't it? Claustrophobia, I mean. And I didn't tell you about it at the interview."
"Oh, that's right, you don't like small spaces. You do realise that during the excavation we might have to explore ancient tombs or passageways? Do you think you can handle that?"
"I don't know," Harry admitted in a soft voice. "But I want to try and overcome it and I really wanted to go on this dig with you."
"With me?" Severus asked in surprise.
Harry blushed and looked down at the tablecloth again. "Yeah, you're sort of my hero, you know. I've got all your books."
"They're on the curriculum at Hogwarts."
"I know, but I'd got them before I started there." Harry grinned at him, his eyes sparkling with humour and it was as if all Severus' breath had left his body. Harry looked so unguarded then, so young and carefree. Severus made a vow to himself that he would do everything in his power to make sure Harry never lost that carefree demeanour.
"So, you're a fan then?"
"Yeah, I suppose so."
"What would you like for dessert, Harry? I can recommend their chocolate cake, and their profiteroles are good too."
Harry perused the menu for a few moments more before nodding his head as if he'd decided. "I think I'll try the profiteroles, I've never had them before."
"Excellent choice," said Severus, glad that Harry seemed amenable to ordering dessert. By the time the waiter had returned for their dessert orders, Severus had decided on the chocolate cake and some coffee to finish. Harry passed on the coffee, as Severus had expected. He remembered their coffee date the day before and it still gave him a warm glow that Harry had invited him out for coffee even if Harry didn't drink the stuff himself.
Once the waiter left them alone again, Severus turned his attention to his favourite pastime of the evening: staring at Harry.

Harry was trying his best to relax and just enjoy the evening, but the nearer their meal got to finishing, the more worried he became. What would Severus want after the meal? What would he expect? Would he kiss Harry goodnight? Due to his upbringing, Harry had never been in a position to be kissed before, he hadn't even come close. What would it be like? He found his eyes gazing at Severus' lips, wondering what they would feel like pressed against his own. Severus kept staring at Harry and his gaze wandered anywhere from his lips to his chest and then further down, to Harry's lower body hidden beneath the tablecloth. But Severus' dark gaze returned to Harry's lips again and again. He was thinking about kissing Harry, no wonder Harry's tummy felt as if it was full of fluttering butterflies.
What if Harry made a complete idiot of himself? He had no idea how to kiss, had barely even seen it on the television before Aunt Petunia would change the channel. Maybe he should have asked Ron before he left. If only they could skip to the part afterwards, where the kiss had happened already and they could relax. But wasn't it supposed to be fun? Kissing someone? He shouldn't be worried, but he was. Harry didn't want Severus to be disappointed in how unskilled he was at kissing, at anything like that really.
The waiter returned with their desserts and placed them in front of them. Nine profiteroles were placed in a pyramid-shape on Harry's plate, drizzled in chocolate sauce and surrounded by mountains of whipped cream. Harry stared at the dessert, trying to eat all of that was going to be a daunting prospect, but he didn't want to be wasteful either so he struggled through half of it before he physically just couldn't eat another bite.
Severus had polished off his chocolate cake, making little noises of appreciation that went straight to Harry's groin. He'd never heard anyone enjoy food so much, not even Ron and that was saying something. Harry shifted on his seat, hoping his erection would diminish before they had to walk back to the hotel.
They'd had a good evening and Harry didn't want it to end quite yet. Should he invite Severus back to his hotel room? Or would that be taken as something else? God, why was all of this so bloody complicated? He felt like a swimmer out of his depth in the ocean, with sharks circling the water around him.
Severus seemed to sense his distress; he leaned over and took Harry's hand in his. "Relax, Harry. A date is supposed to be fun, you know. There's no need to worry."
"Sorry, I'm just not used to it. I don't know what I should be doing."
"You should be enjoying yourself," said Severus with a grin. "I just want to see you happy."
Harry smiled back. "Thank you, I am happy."
The rest of their dessert passed as they ate and conversed as if they had been friends for years. Harry's nervousness had gone and he realised that now, far from panicking at the thought of a goodnight kiss, he was in fact looking forward to it. It would be his first kiss and he was going to enjoy it.
They walked back to the Leaky Cauldron after their date in friendly silence; every so often they would look at each other and smile before looking away again. Harry had sometimes seen men and women arm in arm or holding hands but he didn't know if two men could do that, especially in public. It didn't matter, both of them walked quite close to each other so that Harry could almost pretend they were holding hands or had their arms around each other's waists.
Severus walked Harry to his door. Harry took a deep breath. "Would you like to come in?" Harry blurted out before he lost his nerve altogether.
"Just for a moment," Severus replied.
Harry nodded and fumbled with the key, his hands were shaking so much. Finally he got the door open and pushed it aside to enter, Severus following him in. As well as the two single beds, Harry could just make out the shape of the two armchairs by the window; the curtains must have been closed by the maid already, for the room was in total darkness. Harry tried to find the light switch with touch alone when he felt his hand enclosed in a firm grip. He gasped and stumbled backwards, his body falling against the wall.
"I want to kiss you," Severus said, his voice husky. "I've wanted to kiss you all night."
"Yes," Harry breathed. "I want you to."
When Severus tilted Harry's head up and brought his lips firmly down against his; Harry was overwrought. He had no idea it would feel like this. A bit of nervousness was still there: where should he put his hands, what if he couldn't breathe, would his glasses be awkward against their faces? But a few more open-mouthed kisses from Severus and the nervousness got washed away in a rush of pure unadulterated need. Oh, God! He had no idea a kiss would do this, that a kiss would make him so hard and so wild with want.
Harry's hips were arching towards Severus almost of their own volition and Harry could no more stop the moans flying free from his throat than he could stop the sun from rising and setting every day. Severus' kisses were deep and passionate, as if he couldn't get enough of Harry's lips. Harry returned kiss for kiss feeling light-headed. He needed to breathe but didn't want to stop kissing long enough to do it.
Flames of arousal licked at his belly and groin as each sweep of Severus' lips lifted him higher and higher, as if he knew exactly how aroused Harry was and wanted to keep him on the edge as long as possible. Or maybe not on the edge, for as Severus thrust his tongue into Harry's mouth, he pressed his thigh against Harry's crotch. Harry grabbed hold of Severus' back and rutted wantonly against the delicious pressure. It didn't take long, much to his mortification. He bucked wildly in Severus' arms and spilled himself hopelessly in his jeans, the release going on and on. Through it all Severus never stopped kissing him, never stopped teasing him with lips and tongue.
As Harry's climax ebbed to a trickle, he could feel his jeans getting wetter again and belatedly realised what that meant. Severus had come too, both of them still fully dressed in a dark hotel room. Harry pulled his mouth away, his legs like jelly as he slid down the wall to collapse bonelessly on the floor. There was a click and the room was bathed in bright light as Severus found the light switch.
Harry squinted in the glare as Severus knelt down in front of him. "Harry, I'm so sorry. I never intended things to go that far."
Sorry? One of the best orgasms Harry had ever had and Severus was sorry? "I'm fine, Severus. Just a bit light-headed. I had no idea a kiss could do that."
"Do what?"
"Make you aroused. Make you want to – make you want to come. It made me so hard!"
"Harry, what do you mean you had no idea what a kiss could do? Are you saying that was your first kiss?"
"Um, yeah?" Harry grinned up at him, feeling sated, tired and happy all at once. "But I thought you knew that. When I said I'd never been on a date before."
"Then I am even more remiss in what I allowed to happen between us tonight. Because I couldn't keep my hands off you, I've spoiled your first kiss."
"Severus, what are you on about? You didn't spoil anything! It was wonderful."
"You're not disappointed that it wasn't sweet and romantic?"
"It was sweet and romantic," Harry protested. "Just because we both came doesn't mean it wasn't romantic."
"I didn't want this evening to be about sex," said Severus softly. "I really like you, Harry. I want to spend time with you."
"I know, Severus. This hasn't spoiled anything, I promise. I want to do things with you too, not just sex stuff, but that's good too. Well, it's been good so far," said Harry, grinning. "You'll have lots to teach me, but don't worry, I'm a fast learner."
Severus chuckled. "That you are, Harry. That you are."
