Hey, this is cool. It is different! It's also great Snarry - with awesome OC's and details, and sex, and h/c, love lost and regained. But besides that, a great environment! I love NOLA :-) And I love love love the environmental and social justice angles here.
I have to think about it a bit more (and run off imminently to do some work), but I'm intrigued by how these various tales of loss and survival play off each other, sometimes in harmony, sometimes a jangling counterpoint. Did Severus and Harry need to rebuild? Did they first need to clear away the debris of their misunderstandings, *the* misunderstanding of colossal proportions that underlay not just their relationship, but the entire British wizarding world's war?
I'm also intrigued by the American - or at least American Muggleborn - witches recycling, rather than "vanishing" their emptied plastic water bottles. Is vanishing not sustainable? I guess that depends on where vanished items go, something that's never been very clear from canon... Highly interesting, these added themes! And never in the way of a great story. Far from that, they enrich it and make it refreshingly original and enjoyable.
