Snarry-a-Thon: ART: Brokeback Mountain Snarry
Title: Brokeback Mountain Snarry
Artist: [info]stefefef
Rating: G
Media: Done digitally in Photoshop
Warning(s): None
Prompt: #141 "Pick your favorite movie of all time and write(/draw) a snarry parody of it."
Summary: Illustration to the theme "Snarry" and "Brokeback Mountain"
A/N: Brokeback Mountain isn't my favourite movie of all time, but I thought it would be fun to draw a Snarry-version of it (though I realize it isn't much of a parody..) And I can honestly say I did have fun painting it. :)

Done in photoshop? Wow. It has a real painterly feel to it. Beautiful!

(I hope things turn out better for the Snarry version than they did for Jack and Ennis.)

That's gorgeous! Absolutely looks like an painting from the west. I really love the light and shadows, especially on their faces. Wonderful work.

Lovely, subtle colors for the background and a portrait feel to it.

Lovely! I especially love how detailed and clear Harry and Snape's faces are. I love the visible brushstroke look to it and the blending of colors is really nice.

That is absolutely gorgeous. *sigh*
I'm ashamed to say that I've never seen this movie, but it doesn't matter, this is beautiful and I feel as if I finally get what all the fuss was about. ;)

Oh I love this! This style of drawing is beautiful and fits the theme perfectly. Also it's great how peaceful and Cowboy-y you made this, yet kept their characters so authentic (Snape wearing black for example). Lovely!

I love the western feel: the mountain background, expanse of blue sky, their clothing. The dappled shadows really evoke the turn of the 20th-century lanscape painters. Harry's tanned face makes him appear so much the 'outdoorsy' one, the one who knows the land and will take care of Severus.

Beautifully done!

Awww. Harry cuddling Snape, how nice... and unusual? Usually, if there is cuddling going on, it's Snape's arms around Harry...so this is fantastic! And great job! But you know, I didn't like the movie all that much... I thought it was boring and ... well, who likes sad endings? :-)

wow, I've never seen Harry in a cowboy hat -- and it totally works! Beautifully painted, and so much fun to see our boys out in my part of the world. :-) Wishes I could see them here more. OK, see + touch + NOM NOM NOM DEVOUR.

I love the coloring you used, the "brush strokes," and especially the effect of dappled clear lighting - it all is beautifully like the light and color typical of the Western mountains, especially this time of the year! Ah, to be up in the high country. With Snape and Harry - Yeehah!

Wow. That’s absolutely breathtaking. I love the grand mountain landscape and how happy and relaxed Harry and Severus look set against it, leaning on each other, savouring the moment of tranquillity under the tender caress of the sun. The display of light and shadow on their calm, delicate features looks amazing and makes me think of all those emotions hidden underneath. The cowboy hat is very cute. *loves*

Beautiful setting. I love the backdrop of the sky and mountains. The expressions are so vivid of an uneasy contentment - as though they know they are happy together but know it cannot last. Wonderful depiction of the movie.

Their expressions are so perfect, happy in the moment, but knowing that this is all there is. *sighs* Love the lighting, the chunky 'brush' strokes. Hard to believe this is Photoshop. Just gorgeous!

I love the fact Harry's nose is sunburnt and that Snape is still pale, but not unhealthily so. I also love how Harry is holding him and the vulnerability Snape is allowing himself to display.
