Snarry-a-Thon FIC: Negative Irrational Multiplication
Title: Negative Irrational Multiplication
Author: [info]florahart
Other pairings/threesome: Ron and Hermione are both heterosexually married (not to each other), but there is not onscreen sex. It is implied that Harry has had sex with a girl at least once in his life.
Rating: NC17, eventually.
Word count: 13,500
Warning(s): (highlight for spoilers) *MPreg (not particularly explicit), hurt/comfort, pissed-off Harry; see prompt.*
Prompt: #62 - Harry and Severus got married. But their marriage ends badly. Not until Severus/Harry's health is at risk does the other realize how much he still loves his ex-husband.
Summary: When Harry gets a letter from a Muggle agency naming him as the father of a child in Canada, he doesn't know what to think, but it really pisses him off. When he works out that his ex and magic are involved, he knows he has to go deal with the situation in person, irritated or not.
A/N: Thanks to the beta for speediness and grabbyhandsing when I sent it in pieces. I started with prompt #62 up there, but perhaps bent it slightly to the left, added a wing, ran it through the dryer a couple of times, and allowed it to see a plastic surgeon. It bears a resemblance, but not in the way Fred bears a resemblance to George in the first six books.

I really like this. Snape is so wonderfully in-character and I love how Harry and Snape interact when Harry shows up at the hospital. Grand work!~Sophia

The pace of this was fantastic-the quick, witty dialog was just non-stop. Love that. I can very much see Severus forcing them apart like that. All the characterizations were spot on. Great job.

Thank you. I had a lot of fun with the trio as adults.

Great fic. I especially liked the ending but the whole thingwas good. Witty and full of banter. Ron and Hermione were perfect.

Thanks! I had a lot of fun with Hermione especially, but all the trio as adults, who are still really close but also not in each other's pockets every minute, you know?

I loved how you handled the characters. There was amusing banter to leaven the angst. Harry's reaction to pregnancy makes me shudder to imagine Severus'. And only Hermione could come up with an intercom with no 'do not disturb' setting. A true torture device!

Well done!

I almost don't know what to say first! Wow!

First off, as someone with a friend from Iqaluit, I was happy to see it in a story. And surprised!

I just adore the dynamic between the trio in this story. A well-developed trio dynamic is one of my favorite things in Snarry, and so many people just write them off or make them distanced, etc. which I just can't imagine. (And don't want to!) Your Ron and Hermione came with a few surprises (not married to each other!) but were vibrant and awesome and so... them.

The writing was also so lovely-- humorous, gentle, clever. very well done. The only thing I might have liked a bit different would be a little more angst and trouble along the way towards the happy ending.. Harry and Severus patched things up a tad to easily for my taste, but then maybe that's just because I wanted more story! (Hope that's constructive...) Would love to see this in an extended edition.

Thanks a bunch! Fantastic story-- just what I needed.

Glad to entertain.

Thanks; I had a lot of fun with the trio, and I don't even think I *can* make them distanced without there being a pretty compelling reason.

I also felt like I was rushing the making up a bit, but I feared they would continue to holler at each other for another 6000 words or something, otherwise, so I let them off the hook. Heh.

What deliciously complicated dialogue! I also love the shoe-phone. *g* Also, I'm in love with the baby being named Ellery and having not just the trademark features of black hair and green eyes, but most noticeably, </i>"a suspicious and curious stare."</i>

This was so great! It was incredibly funny and the banter was just lovely. And the call boxes! There were so many great things in this story. Great job!

Some really fun details in this, like the shoe phone, and the area in Canada where part of the story took place. An enjoyable read!

I really enjoyed this. I can just see Sev running off to the Arctic to try to save Harry from his own fate.

I enjoyed this so much. I loved the interactions - Harry with Severus, Harry with Ron & Hermione - all the dialogue was marvelous. Severus's actual medical condition was a rather brilliant idea, too.

And the part I liked best was when Harry took Severus away from the hospital - the dialogue there was wonderful, and the whole scene had me smiling from ear to ear.

Good to see Harry's "rescuing people thing" in more mature form - and backed up by the rest of the trio to boot. Very satisfying read.

I really liked the story. It's completely believable that Snape would encounter something potentially life threatening and make decisions that affect Harry based on his research. I love how Harry matured and was able to let go of his anger towards Severus. Ellery is such a Snape name. :)

Huzzah for a fic that has Canada in it! That made me happy *waves Canadian flag*
Great to see another mpreg, and Harry’s cursing and angst were IC and fun. Severus being the pregger one and thinking he was dying and such. Lovely fic!

Oh this was fabulous!
Snape was so IC, as was Harry, and it was nice to see a more mature Harry (who can use big words, yay!).
Harry's filthy mouth was amusing as well. *g*
I enjoyed your pairings (George/Hermione, Ron/Daphne) and it makes so much sense that they would end up with different people.
Well done!

Very amusing story. I enjoyed the unique aspects: the different pairings, the location, the really different type of malady. Very nicely conceived.

Oh hey! I really enjoyed this. Excellent dialogue, and one of the best representations of the adult trio that I've read, good dynamic between them. And it's mpreg and that didn't annoy me at all. How is that even possible? Nice work.
