Summary: What to do with weeds.
A/N: Once again (as all the Summer Challenge bits), unbetaed.

Snape twitched his wand in the sharp pattern required by the corking spell. Wiping the bottle with an old pillow slip, he slotted it next to its brothers. A round dozen dark bottles gleamed on the shelf, dustless yet, new and shiny.

This spring had brought a bumper crop of dandelions to their garden. At the end of May, a couple weeks after the last frost, Snape and Harry gathered three enormous buckets of flowers. Together, they cleaned the flowers and rigged up Snape's biggest cauldron over a fire-pit by the garden shed. Harry sliced the lemons and oranges; Snape diced the ginger. Steam curled upward as the flowers released their essence, soon mingled with citrus, sugar and spice.

And now, on a rainy day in June, the final racking was finished, and the wine was laid up to await the alterations of time. Snape used to preach to his first year students about death and fame and glory, but here in these bottles was something more fleeting and more dear: a spring day, the scent of mown grass, the cool flowers, the birds singing in the oak tree; and Harry, the sun shining from his smile, a dandelion flower tucked behind his ear.
