Oooo - tricky, and fun!
When they had it off in the alternate reality, I was going - nonononono - Voldie's plan - stop it! But no, you went a different route, and what a lovely denouement!
Plenty of First Times, even if they're not - oh, you know what I mean!

Thank you for your lovely comments. When I realized I was an entire fest behind, I knew I had to go back and respond (as I'd always intended to do--promise!) I loved participating in this fest, as first times are a favorite trope of mine. But then I had to go an come up with a not quite first time but first time (you know what I mean...) idea. Thanks for reading!

Oh, very nicely done! It's all good, the initial confusion, the magic, the AU. I love how Voldemort's false memories are obviously going to be played out again for real, that Voldie couldn't have given his two greatest enemies any greater reward if he'd tried. All kinds of terrific, and wonderfully tender and hot.

What a great alternate reality! I did wonder how it was all going to play out, I must say you did a masterly job of joining up the circle, giving Voldie his comeuppance on the way.

Yes! Just what I hoped would come through. Thank you for taking the time to read and respond. I am so sorry for taking such an inexcusable amount of time to respond. I'm an entire fest behind!

*sighs happily* This was awesome! I loved the slight sense of vertigo, the Wait, what now? that Severus, Harry and me were in. Great plot, great story!

“Also, I think I'd like you to take me on a date.”
And that? That was perfect!

Thank you! Sorry for the super late reply. Baby #1 arrived right at fest time. Glad you enjoyed.

Lovely! I do so enjoy a fic where I get to unravel things along with the characters. This had such an interesting premise and I like how everything fit together in the end. Typical of Voldemort to think he's being really clever, though, when in fact he's just dishing up his own death sentence. Idiot. And Snape to the rescue with his brilliant and intricate potions work! That never gets old for me.

Loved the description of memories in this part -- it was so visceral and affecting:
Memory upon memory comes flooding back—some are murky, dim, polluted. Others brilliant, bright, shining to the bone—and each is accompanied by a torrent of emotion, of feeling. The sensation is razor sharp, and Severus must close his eyes, hold his breath against the intensity of it.

And my favorite tiny detail was Harry's Snitch-patterned sleep pants. Adorable. <3

In my head, Harry always sleeps in Snitch-patterned pants (unless there are no pants) :)
Thank you for the lovely comment. I apologize for the super late reply.

Oh, I absolutely ADORED this fic. You did such a spectacular job of showing just how familiar and yet not things were, how awkward and yet comfortable they were together. The flashes of "memory" coloring their present. I loved how Severus didn't want to go back, how Harry, too, seemed to warm to their shared life. Brilliant to have Voldemort not quite manage, ever underestimating Harry. Absolutely riveted the entire time, hoping against hope that somehow they could defeat Voldemort and things would work out. The end itself? *wipes tears* Absolutely perfect. Excellent work.

This comment makes me smile. Thank you. I realized with embarrassment how tardy I was in responding to these comments. I apologize. I blame everything on baby. But once again, you ladies ran a delightful fest. It's such fun to participate in this community.

Oh, how lovely!
I always like these "How the hell did this happen?" moments, and this in no exception. Absolutely love the mixed memories, and, you know, I wasn't quite sure if the boys would have to face the person who brought them into the alternative world or if they would have to live with it.
Twisting our hearts like you did - letting the boys fall in love with their new reality and then sending them back again - wasn't very nice of you. *wiggles finger*
BUT I'll forgive you because of this super-cute ending. ;)
What a wonderful story! <3

Oh, what a fabulously creative story! I enjoyed reading this so much (and it will be going on my re-read list for after the fest). From the opening moment of surprise to Severus' realizing that he prefers the AR to Harry's statement at the end--I loved it. There was such an understated tone to every scene yet they communicate layers of emotions for the characters. Just really well done!!

A re-read is always the best compliment. Thank you for reading and leaving the kind comment. I am sorry I am so lame in my late late response.
