Note: Severus takes his new boyfriend home to meet his Muggle cousins. Set about three months after New York Minute.
After the initial surprise that "our Sev" had finally decided to attend (and brought a boyfriend, yet!), most of the family settled down to the serious business of eating, drinking, talking, and watching the Queen's Christmas message on the brand new plasma screen telly.
Remus had struck up a conservation with a third cousin who was in university and was reading A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. Severus, who disliked Joyce, had gathered up their plates and headed for the kitchen when he noticed the child.
The child levitating what was left of Mary Maria's jelly.
