"Eh, y'noticed the jelly," cackled Mary Maria. She had dragged Severus over to the buffet while other assorted relatives arrived. Now Severus had to fend off her questions about how he'd met Remus, and why Remus didn't use some nice hair dye to cover all that gray at his temples. "It's not as good as the portrait of Prince Charles when he married - "
Severus nearly choked on an olive.
" - but it'll do for family." She sighed nostalgically. "I'll make one for you when you settle down. You've my word on that."
"How nice," he managed.
