Title: Late bloomer
Character(s): Scorpius, Draco
Rating: G
Challenge(s): [info]slytherin_100's Late prompt & [info]draco100's absence of magic prompt
Word count: 100
Author's note: X-posted @ LJ

Scorpius was eight when he could no longer ignore the whispers. Grandfather and dad had been arguing for weeks, and Draco’s face was pinched with worry as they went to St Mungo's for their yearly check-up. The specialist threw around words like "trauma" and "absent maternal influence."

When they Flooed home, he turned to his dad and asked, "Are they saying that I'm a Squib because Mum died?"

"Scorpius, they don't know what they're talking about." He sounded tired and sad. "If that's true, then Harry Potter wouldn't have had an ounce of magic. Your magic isn’t absent, it’s just…late."

Present for the Boy (Draco, Teddy, Andromeda, G, 100 words) [Feb. 22nd, 2009|05:10 pm]

Title: Present for the Boy
Character(s): Draco, Teddy, Andromeda
Rating: G
Challenge: Throne
Word count: 100

"Uncle Draco! Where are my presents?" Inquisitive fingers immediately delved into velvet robe folds.

"Teddy Lupin! Where are your manners?"

"It's fine, Aunt Andromeda. It is his birthday, after all." Draco smiled at his four-year-old co-conspirator.

"He's not too young to learn manners," Andromeda said with a touch of exasperation. "He's never this willful with his godfather."

Draco shrugged. He didn't see why he shouldn't shower his nephew with presents when he could afford to.

Meanwhile, Teddy had climbed into Draco's lap, claiming it as his throne.

"Presents?" Wide amber eyes asked hopefully.

Draco laughed. "Wait until the others arrive."

"Goodwill to All" (Draco/Astoria, G, 100 words) [May. 8th, 2008|03:53 pm]

Title: Goodwill to All
Pairing: Draco/Astoria
Rating: G
Challenge: Charity
Word count: 100
X-posted @ HP Drabble Tree and @ LJ

"Malfoys don't do charity."

Astoria gave him a look that was almost as effective as the Malfoy eyebrow.

Draco quickly amended himself. "I meant to say, we don't believe in charity unless it puts us in a good light."

His wife was unmoved. "So? Pull some strings and get the Daily Prophet to cover it."

Sighing, he pulled out a Gringotts form. "How many galleons did you say the charity need?"

Astoria beamed. "Five hundred galleons should do nicely, dear."

"Make sure the donation stays anonymous," he called out to his wife's back.

Society of Ferrets and Weasels Preservation indeed.

China doll (Draco/Pansy, Astoria, PG-13, 100 words) [Mar. 9th, 2008|07:24 pm]

Title: China Doll
Pairing(s): Draco/Pansy, Astoria
Rating: PG-13 for boys being boys
Challenge: Common Room
Word count: 100 words
Author's notes: Sorry JKR, but Pansy is 100 times more interesting than your self-insertion Mary Sue Ginny.
Also answers [info]writing_game's China Doll prompt.

"Daphne's little sister is interested in you." Pansy carded careful fingers through white blond hair.

Draco, head comfortably pillowed on her lap, grunted noncommittally.

"All the boys—even Blaise—think she's pretty," Pansy continued.

Snuggling deeper into the sofa, Draco said, tone unconcerned, "She is prettier than her sister."

Pansy paused in her ministrations.

"She's like a china doll--pretty and vacuous. Blaise always does prefer them empty-headed."

When Pansy resumed her petting, Draco drawled, "Besides, nobody else fill out their robes like you do."

Pansy snorted.

"Ow! No hair pulling!"

"Serves you right." A small smile quirked her lips.

"Palindrome" (Draco/Su Li, G, 100 words) [Dec. 25th, 2007|01:03 am]

Title: Palindrome
Pairing(s): Draco/Su Li
Rating: G
Challenge: Game
Word count: 100 words
Author's notes: This Draco and Su Li are from “People Like Us.” This drabble is the easiest and fastest that I've ever written *g*

“You know what today is?”

Su Li looked up from the crossword puzzle in the newspaper. Draco sounded excited, as if it was someone’s birthday or anniversary.

“Well it’s not my birthday or yours. Saturday?” Li hazarded a guess.

“No, it’s 10 February 2001.” Draco pronounced with a wide smile.

“And…” Li prompted.

“It’s a palindrome date!” The blond man jabbed the air with his finger. “We’re only going to see one more in our lifetime: 20 February 2002!”

Li grinned up at Draco. “Moments like this, I love you so hard.”

Draco scoffed, cheeks a little rosy. “You Ravenclaws.

"Mind Games" (Padma on H/D, PG-13, 100 words) [Dec. 22nd, 2007|03:11 am]

Title: Mind Games
Character(s): Padma Patil, perceived Harry/Draco, an assortment of Ravenclaws
Rating: PG-13 for the word "arse" =P
Challenge: Game
Word count: 100
Author's notes: based on my Padma Patil application for an IJ rpg.

The Gryffindor Chaser—Winnet? Spinnet?—scored another goal, and everyone cheered.

Padma was bored. Gryffindor always wins—they have Harry Potter, after all—and Ravenclaw wasn’t even in the running for the Quidditch Cup. It had been two—possibly three—centuries since Ravenclaw last won the Cup.

“You know,” Padma said in a thoughtful tone. “I wonder why Harry Potter finds Draco Malfoy’s arse so fascinating.”

“What?”

“Give me those binoculars!”

“Crikey! Potter is engrossed with Malfoy's backside.”

“He can’t be expecting to see the Snitch to appear there."

"Wait until Cho hear about this!"

Padma just hummed to herself.
