In the Department of Mysteries, deep in the dungeons beneath the Ministry of Magic there is room that is always locked. Or at least, it’s always supposed to be…

Pandora Twiddle hadn’t meant for it to happen. All she wanted was a decent mark on her final exam, and a research grant to work as an Unspeakable. She hadn’t meant to leave the door unlocked, but she’d been stressed, and yeah, okay, more than a little hungover.

Just two more days and she’d have handed in her thesis and shut down the project. She’d thought her subject was fascinating – there weren’t many magical theorists working on eromancy, and scant little research on Queer theory in the field. Most of the best-respected researchers were still caught up in parental and filial love, which was where all the funding was.

Her work would have changed that. She’d used cutting edge particle magic theory to study trace remnants of old magic. She’d proven even to her hard-headed supervisor that the love magic the founders had used to place some of the oldest protective spells on Hogwarts School was – well – pretty damn gay.

One minute’s carelessness in the pursuit of jam doughnuts later, and everything was ruined. The protective field where she’d set up her model of the Hufflepuff/Ravenclaw Bonding Charm stood before her, empty and mocking.

With a shifty look around to make sure she was still alone, Pandora waved her wand and the field disappeared. She’d say she finished early and ended the spell. And nobody need ever, ever know what she’d just done.

Miles away a fluttering line of thin silver light flew rapidly northwards through a clear blue sky. It slowed as it drew close to an old castle, perched above a Scottish lake. It settled over the highest tower, making the turret glow briefly. Then it spread out again, and faded away in a wide circle, leaving an odd ripple in it’s wake, like the slight distortions of curved glass. The charm was reflected all over Great Britain within the next few days, the caster apparently going a little trigger happy, fixing itself into the home's of witches and wizards everywhere.

Nobody saw it happen, but they’d start to feel its effects soon enough.

For my liking this community is way to inactive, but what can I do but post an entry. That's why I want to share with you the joys of German advertisements. I saw this Debitel mobile phone ad in a magazine and I thought of posting it here, although I don't really know if I should call it hotness:



The slogan says something like: "Everyone with everyone!" The funny thing is, the pic shows an absolutely not homosexual act, the brother's kiss between Leonid Breschnew and Erich Honecker (happened in 1979, Breschnew greeted Honecker when they meet during the celebration of the GDR's 30th anniversary). This ad absolutely turns the event's meaning.

Captain Jack Harkness and Ianto Jones are characters in the Doctor Who spinoff "Torchwood." They are probably one of the slashiest pairs on TV right now. Behind the cut I bring two pictures of them doing what they do best: kissing. Warning: large pictures.

When I've checked my flist the other day I found something that piqued my slashy interest. It was a post about two actors who happen to be best friends and who acted together in a movie called "Y tu mamá también" in which there was some hot man on man action. Fans will already know which actors I'm referring to, for everyone else, I'm talking about Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal as seen on the picture below:

On my flist there was a very interesting post for German slash fans. lenija started a poll about the German version of a Porn Battle. In German fandom there is no such thing. That's why she asks people about their opinion on that matter. I think every development of the German fandom should be supported.

So this post is about football. To be more exact, it's a pic-spam about football, but not your average pic-spam, it's rather a special one. Why, you ask? Well, because it's going to prove that, yes, football is a slashy sport! If not the slashiest ever. You may judge for yourself then!

It’s already been a while since my last entry about homosexuality in ancient Greece. Last time I talked about the reasons and origins of homesexuality in Greek culture. This time I’ll once again stick to the information given in the Eva Cantarella’s book and tell you something about the Homeric poems, especially the Iliad.

Before reading the text I didn’t know, that there had been a "Greek Dark Age" in history. The Dark Ages apparently is the time span between 12th and 18th century BC. The time before is the time of Mycenaen civilisation, the time after is the period of the organized polis system. Must have been really dark ages, because I did hear about both periods in my history lessons, but never of a time in between. Okay, my history teacher was crap, but that’s not the point here.

Answering a question posed to her at tonight's book reading at Carnegie Hall in New York, Harry Potter author JK Rowling said she "always thought Dumbledore was gay" and that he originally fell in love with the wizard Grindelwald.

Rowling also said she had read through Steve Kloves' script for the movie adaptation of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and corrected a passage in which Dumbledore was reminiscing about past loves by crossing it out and scrawling "Dumbledore is gay" over it.

Upon hearing her response, a hush fell over the audience in attendence and then applause exploded. Rowling remarked that if she had known that would be the response, she would've revealed her thoughts on Dumbledore earlier.

One of House's patients had a near-death experience and tried to re-create it by sticking a metal knife into an electrical socket. House tried it, and now he is a patient in the hospital. Wilson is worried about him, of course.

Sometimes it's strange: You live your daily life and have special interests, say slash. Then there comes along one film, which you haven't seen in cinema, because you watched the trailer and it was urgh. One day however your interest guides you back to this film and whoops, you are anxious to collect more and more knowledge on the films content.

That's what happened to me, when I watched "Alexander". I don't want to be monotonous, I know that I already posted about the film and all. Also, it's really not the film that's highly interesting, but the time it plays in. What do we now about that epoch? How come an ancient society accepted the relationship between two men or two women? Why don't I know anything about this stuff from my history lessons?

So many questions and no answers. But I am not a slash fan and student for nothing. So I went to my university's library and did some research to satisfy my curiosity. I found a nice book, which has some answers in it: "Bisexuality in the Ancient World" by Eva Cantarella.

In the "Welcome Post" of Slashy_Hotness I told you how I got the idea for this asylum.

It actually started with a search for slashy pics of Jared Leto and Colin Farrell from the premiere to "Alexander".

I needed these pics for a post I wanted to make about my new fandom: Alexander The Great.

Since it all started with this post, I thought it would be great to have at least some extracts of it here (I will spare you my ramblings about how I got into this fandom in the first place, if you are interested, click the link above).

Is actor and musician Jared Leto coming out? In an online interview last week, the 34-year-old star said: "I'll give you an exclusive...I'm gay." Asked if he was serious, Leto replied: "As a goose." It's not the first time the actor, who also heads rock band 30 Seconds To Mars, has brought up his sexuality. In an interview with Out magazine in 2004, Leto told writer Degen Pener: "I know I'm gay. I must be gay." In the Oliver Stone flick Alexander, Leto played Colin Farrell's lover - but there were no sex scenes between the two actors. "If there had been," Leto said, "it would be the best man-on-man sex you've ever seen."

First, I've only known Jared from his band 30 Seconds To Mars. Even though I like their music, I've never once looked up "Jared Leto" on the internet or somewhere else, you could say I don't know anything about him. (That will definitely change, because now I am a fan! ^.^) Therefore I don't know whether he's gay, bi or hetero or whatever.

But what he says about that "if so-sex scene". Whoa!! I'd really love to see that "best man-on-man sex you've ever seen". Now, I have those naughty mental images! Great! Thanks Jared!

some time ago I posted a review and a picspam about the film "Alexander" in my personal journal. Because this community was born just yesterday and should not stay empty for long, I thought it would be great to post the whole stuff once again (slightly altered of course).

The film itself is something for the eye. No, I don't mean the landscape. I just say: Jared Leto and Colin Farrell!

On the other hand if I look at it objectively, the film is horrible. The monologues and dialogues are not just to give the viewer some information about Alexander the Great and his life, but to make me shake my head in disappointment. Old times in all honour, but this is just wordily. You can say little with much words. And Anthony Hopkins does so very often.

Five minutes later I created slashy_hotness and, about 10 minutes after that I hired only_gremo as a mod.

Well then, I hope we all will enjoy our time at Slashy_Hotness. &hearts
