 Kreacher's obvious bias aside (little prat is probably just jealous that there isn't an "Elf-fest") we have indeed come to the end of Sirius Black Fest 2013. We would like to thank all of the participants for their hard work and their lovely art and stories and the readers/viewers for taking the time to read and comment and rec. Thank you so much guys, you rock! We urge those of you who haven't had the chance to read/comment, to take this week to catch up on all the goodies that have been posted and leave a little bit of love for the authors and artists.  Pimp us! The deadline for submissions has come and gone and we are happy to report that all but five people have either submitted their work or have extensions with us. What this means is, we have a incredibly varied fest in the works with art and stories from some of the best creators in fandom. (Many of whom were kind enough enough to ensure I got a good bit of the other, thanks ever so!-S.B.) Posting starts one week from today at 2pm EST. Hope to see you there! Deadline!
It's September 23rd, the day that submissions are due for those of you who did not ask for an extension. While we've heard from most of you either on the comm. or via e-mail there are still a few of you who have not checked in with us. If we don't hear from you by 12am PST we are going to assume you have dropped out without notification.  For those of you who have already submitted or requested an extension, thanks! For this week's head-canon discussion, a fellow you may have heard of somewhere -- just maybe, it's not like he's famous or has any identifying scars or anything -- finally gets his turn in the "Sirius + another person" lottery: ( Sirius & Harry ) As always, discussion is not limited to these topics; they're just a few points to get you started. Please feel free to discuss anything you can think of that involves Sirius and Harry! P.S. We've run a bit short on ideas for future head-canon discussion posts, so given the somewhat hit-or-miss results of the series so far, we will probably be moving away from the weekly format into something less frequent. Just a few notes:  Secondly, we put out a call for betas last week for those of you writing for Sirius Black Fest 2013 and a fair amount of people have volunteered their beta services. If you need a beta go check out this thread. Thirdly, with less than two months to go until the submission deadline of Sept. 23rd we'd love for you to check in and tell us how it goes. Drop a comment and let us know how things are shaping up! Sirius Black's Dysfunctional Family Lastly, we'd like to tentatively announce the holiday fest we have in the works. This fest (which will be very low stress and hopefully completely irreverent and fun and may involve prizes) will be a bit different from the one posting in October since we're going to be inviting the entire Black family (both by marriage and birth) to Sirius' place in the hopes of Details to follow once we've worked everything out. Call for Betas!
 With a little less than two months to go before our September 23rd fest deadline, we hope everyone is plugging away at their fics and art and getting close to the point of sending off their submissions to a beta. With that in mind we're putting out a call for betas for those writers and artists who may be in need of one. So, if you're willing to handle beta duties for one of our fest participants please comment below. This week's usual head canon discussion has been preempted for the kink meme which remains in full swing. The discussion topic will be back once the kink meme wraps up. We would also like to let everyone know that they are free to leave both prompts and fills anonymously. The anon prompts and fills will be screened as anon comments usually are but so long as they fit the criteria of the meme they're fine and will be unscreened asap.
