Silent films on TCM in 1/2 hour
I was flipping channels and stumbled on an interesting documentary called 'Slanted Screen' which explores the history of how Asians are portrayed in film.  Then, starting at 8:00 eastern, they'll start with several silent films, including 'Mr. Wu' with Lon Chaney.  Go to TCM's web site for the schedule:

    Archive.org
There are a LOT of silent movies on the wonderful Internet Archive, www.archive.org.  They have several Buster Keaton films, Phantom of the Opera (both 1925 and 1929 version), The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Nosferatu, to name a few.  It's all free, and you can either view streaming or download copies.  They also have a very avant-garde version of 'The Fall of the House of Usher'.

    Have fun!

Sunrise (1927) available in DVD set
Several people I know have said that Sunrise (1927) wasn't available on DVD except as a special premium a few years ago. However, I did just find it in a strange 4-movie set called "Studio Classics", here on the TCM website. The other movies are "All About Eve", "How Green Was My Valley", and "Gentlemen's Agreement", so it's quite an eclectic collection.

    TCM Silents in February
TCM will be showing two silents in February that are kind of hard to find on February 4th: "Wings" (1927) 8:00 PM Eastern, followed by "Sunrise" (1927) at 10:30 PM Eastern. I've seen both and they're terrific.
