BIO: Julia Mitchell
Name: Julia Catherine Mitchell.
Known as: Julia or Jules.
Age/birthdate: 18 / 2nd June 1989.
Appearance: Face - Sophie Dahl.
Family: Mum Diane, dad Tim, two sisters Bonnie and Laura, brother Paul. And a pet canary called Mimì.
Studying: Fine Art & Illustration
Likes: Painting and drawing. Children's books. Birds. Moshpits. Ice cream. Opera and rock, but not opera-rock because that's just shit. Disney, before they got rubbish.
Dislikes: Modern art. Cats. Sports. Shopping for clothes. Boy-humour like Jackass and Borat.
Brief history: Born and grew up in Canterbury, Kent. Her siblings are fourteen, twelve and nine years older than her, from her mum's first marriage, and she's not really that close to any of them. She was more like an only child, they'd all left home by the time she was nine. She was never exactly a loner, growing up, but she quite likes being on her own. She made friends easily, but she's never had a serious boyfriend and there's only a couple of people she misses from home. It felt a bit of a relief to get away, when she came to Sidborough. She was restless and bored and sick to death of being nagged at to find something worthwhile to do.
Art was never a "career choice" for her, it's just something she's always loved to do. She was worried that studying it would make it less fun, but so far she's having a great time with the course. Her parents aren't happy she's doing something like this when there's not an obvious job at the end of it, like they say there would be with nursing or business or something, but she's seriously clueless about what she wants to do with her life and if she's going to be stuck in a university for years then it's going to be for something she enjoys doing.
She's one of those Happy People who's almost always in a freakishly good mood, although when she gets angsty she really goes for it. Animal cruelty sets her off, and shitty modern art getting loads of attention when IT'S SHIT, and she's easily upset about her weight. It goes up and down all the time, she can't seem to make it stay one thing for more than a few weeks. She's always said she wouldn't mind being fat as long as it was consistent fat and she didn't have to keep buying new clothes every few months.
Dream job - fantastical portrait painter, like Waterhouse, but there's not a lot of call for that kind of thing these days. She needs a time machine. She thinks she'd do well in the 1880s.
