Characters: Hermione, Harry, Dumbledore Date: September 1, 1999 (backdated) Location: Safehouse library Rating: G Summary: Harry and Hermione make an important discovery and decide Dumbledore needs to hear it right away. Status: In progress
After Disapparating from Godric's Hollow, Hermione reappeared on the street a little ways from the Safehouse. Standing close enough to it so that she was under its protection of secrecy, she rigorously checked the book for any enchantments. After thirty minutes of this, she was reasonably satified that the book was not going to explode or reveal the safe house's location, so she went inside and straight to the library.
She knew she recognized that symbol from somewhere. She pulled several books from the shelves: biographies, histories (both muggle and wizard), as well as old newspapers. In addition, she pulled a book on fashion through the ages. The strange man was wearing a very outmoded suit, and she had a feeling that he was somehow connected to everything. Otherwise, why would he be there, why would he be so earnest about the Peverells, and why would he happen to be carrying this children's book everywhere and give it to her like it would answer all of her questions?
There - she found a similar suit pictured in the book. It was from very early in the 19th century. Using that clue, Hermione went to her histories and began her search.
