Knight Rider Blu-Ray set on sale at Walmart.

[info]luckybluestar
[info]shadowy_flight
Wallyworld (Walmart) marked down the Blu-Ray set for Knight Rider: The Complete Series. It went from $47 down to about $30.

I already have the Complete Collection and two sets of the original DVD releases from the 2000's, so I personally don't need it. But here's the link if anyone wants it in physical, Blu-Ray form.

Review of Hot Wheels Elite 1:18 KITT & KARR.

[info]shadowy_flight
Knight Rider KITT vs. KARR! Hot Wheels Elite 1:18 | Heavy MeTal Models

From 2014. Video credited to J.D. Kelly and Heavy MeTal Models.

I like the touches of the fold down back seat, and especially the touch of making KITT and KARR's CPU casings different.

Some things are a little fabricated, such as the cars having retro-rockets (which did look nice, though) and the location of the CPUs. The KITT model here still has the singular red square voice box. But they look nice overall.

I'm still waiting for the day when someone makes a KITT model with a three bar voice box and single monitor dashboard, as opposed to sticking to what he looked like at the beginning of the first season.

General news/appearances, etc...

[info]luckybluestar
[info]shadowy_flight
I don't have the day or the time, but David Hasselhoff will be appearing on an upcoming episode of Tanked, which airs on Animal Planet. I did catch David's interview on The Insider and he said he appeared on the show because he's interested in the conservation of sharks.

If anyone out there is headed to Comic Con (SDCC) this year, David and the rest of the cast of Sharknado 3 will be there this Friday, and there WILL be a Knight Rider display with a KITT replica on hand again. (I checked the other sites and it doesn't look like they're promoting any KR-related merchandise or projects this time around.)

Speaking of merch. (Did I really just spell it merch? Ugh.)

Knight Rider is being released on blu ray... But, it's a Japanese release, and will cost $600.

Also, if you read the thread, you can purchase the entire original series in HD via Google Play, minus the episode Dead of Knight. (Due to music rights issues.)

Finally, Turn Your Car Into Knight Rider's K.I.T.T. With This Talking USB Charger.

Several KR-related news stories this week.

[info]luckybluestar
[info]shadowy_flight
(Most of this is courtesy of Knight Rider Archives, and Knight Rider Online.)

Sadly, we do have two deaths to report, both from the episode Short Notice. - Joe Conley (who played the motel manager where Michael and Nicole stayed at), and Dennis Berkley (Tiny). Mr. Conley died on July 7th. Mr. Berkley passed away a few days later, he was sixty-seven. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their loved ones.

In happier news:

Hallmark has released their 2013 KITT Keepsake Christmas ornament.

Hot Wheels will soon be announcing the release date for KARR in their Elite line.

Finally, a very Happy (and belated) Birthday to David Hasselhoff from all of us at Shadowy Flight!

From Entertainment Earth: The Hoff is back! Based on the 1982 TV series Knight Rider, this is the best toy KITT money can buy. Not only does it feature spinning wheels and opening doors, it has lights and sounds, too. But wait, there's more! It's a limited edition, roughly 13-inch long vehicle based on a 1982 Pontiac Trans-Am that's compatible with many 3 3/4-inch scale action figures. And we included one! Get your very own 3 3/4-inch David Hasslehoff as Michael Knight Action Figure... available only in this set!

Wow! That may look nothing like the Hoff, but check out the detail that went into him. O.O

I agree with those who said it in comments. I hope if it talks, it'll have William Daniels' voice, like the Kenner KITT does.

…but I don't care for the alterations they made to William Daniels' voice here.

TomTom commericial - KITT needs an update.

Hopefully this is just an ad for their GPS maps, and they aren't actually making changes to his voice for the download. (Edit: If it's real and not something a fan made.)

Don't expect this to be available until at least late 2012. (Though another fan did say they were told it'd be out this coming holiday season, or Spring of next year.)

Lucky's review of The Best of the 80's: KR DVD set.

[info]luckybluestar
[info]shadowy_flight
The set came today. The box itself is nice and reminiscent of the S1 release. Nice artwork of KITT on the back, along with a couple pics of Michael from the back of a couple of the other single sets.

There is one episode change from the listing I found on Amazon - the addition of K.I.T.T.Nap. (Goliath is listed as one episode, so that would make nine.)

There are no teasers. There are no clips of episodes or music with the main menu. It's only a simple menu with the episode listing, and then a setup where you can select English subtitles.

The visual transfer doesn't seem as clean as the other releases, but it could have been worse. KOTP and Goliath are divided into two episodes, with credits at the end of their first halves. (Like there would be in syndication.) At the end of Goliath, you are taken straight to the second part, but not with KOTP.

They're single-sided disks, in Dolby Digital 2.0. (I don't know anything about fixed sound issues yet.)

It's what you'd expect to get for a $12 set. Probably would be a good cheap gift to give someone that you're trying to introduce to the series.

Edit: Correction. There are teasers. It also seems to be edited somewhat like it is in syndication.

[info]luckybluestar
[info]shadowy_flight

Episodes finally announced for Best of KR DVD set.

[info]luckybluestar
[info]shadowy_flight
In somewhat happier KR news. Here's the listing for the set according to someone on Amazon.com.

1. Knight of the Phoenix, Pt. 1
2. Knight of the Phoenix, Pt. 2
3. Deadly Maneuvers
4. Trust Doesn't Rust
5. Goliath, Pt. 1
6. Goliath, Pt. 2
7. K.I.T.T. vs. K.A.R.R.
8. Junkyard Dog
9. Voodoo Knight

There's other episodes I would much rather see on here than Deadly Maneuvers and Voodoo Knight. (Say like Chariot of Gold and Sky Knight.)

But it has the pilot, Goliath, both Karr episodes, and Junk Yard Dog. They got it right for the most part.

The set is available on Amazon for $12.95.
