A reminder
The drafts are due October 1st.

However, no need to panic, these only need to be rough drafts and don't need to be polished or beta-read yet. If you have questions, doubts, problems: talk to us. By now you all should know that we don't bite.

Apropos beta-reading: we've tried to match those of you who wanted to be matched with a potential beta reader and cheerleader. If you haven't been matched for some reason and want to be matched, or if you need help: mail us.

And finally, a request: When you send us your drafts, please put the word 'draft' somewhere into the subject line of your mail. That helps us with the filtering. It will also be helpful if you can give us a short header with genre and potential warnings for your art and fic, but that's not a must.

Please send your draft to: severusbigbang@googlemail.com

Are we excited yet? I'm looking forward to your entries. Time flies... :D

Does it have to be a draft of the entire story, or a draft of how far we've gone?

No, a draft of the entire story, but it doesn't need to be the entire story. Something like:

Chapter 23:

Severus will finally confront Hermione.
Smut happens and needs to be fleshed out.

Chapter 24:

Hermione wasn't pleased that he called her hair a birds nest.
They're fighting. They make up. Smut needs to be written.

An outline, something that gives us an idea how much we'll get. This helps us prepare 'blank' posts for art and fic, already with links and titles, which then only needs to be filled in with the real thing when we get the final product. And genre and warnings, so we can prepare the type of 'intro' pages for the different types of stories and art. When we had the sign-ups, people didn't yet know what they would do, so we can't go from there.

OH! I thought it had to be full-on draft, like nearly ready for posting. We can have an outline for some of it if the ending isn't complete?

No, it doesn't have to be a full draft. We trust that you are determined to finish it when you go beyond that stage, though.
It's a check for you to see if you still can and want to do it (and no eyebrows raised if people can't), and for us to see what and how much will come, and to make all the preparations we can for quick posting.

Thank you so much for the perspective on what you're looking for at that time. :)

A photo of art in progress would be wonderful, but a concept, sketch, description, is fine, too.

I have a draft of a fic to send you that isn't completed by half. However, I've just been smacked in the face with a bunny that I really, really want to write instead. Do you want me to send you a draft of the fic I've worked on already? So far it's a little under 5,000 words. I anticipate the new fic being between 5,000 and 10,000.

You get an extension if you write both ~snicker~

Seriously, send us what you want to finish, details should be taken to mail. :)

Ooo, I think I will try to write both. A challenge! I've sent both drafts to you. Thanks!

Oh, no!

I missed the deadline! I never miss deadlines - at least, I try not to.

Can I still send in my draft? And in what format? I do have a finished draft, and my beta and both my "Scotpickers" have seen it. It's been a hard month for me - illnesses in the family, I was injured, and I was on vacation. Besides which, it's been just plain busy!

I can mail this to you tonight, in .doc format (Mac OS version, word 2004). Had still been tinkering - there is one conversation I'm not yet satisfied with, and the Scotswomen are telling me one of my citations is off, and I'm trying to decide what to do about that. So - I was aiming for a polished draft before sending it, and I'm not quite there. Very close, but not quite there.

Will you still take it?

Sure, send it in. We don't need polished drafts at this point. .doc is fine.
