Severus Big Bang Birthday Bash

When deviantArt rolled out their new Groups feature at the end of 2009, a few Snape fans we know and love decided to get together and start a Snape club called Spinners End.

The group collects and features quality art, fic and meta with canon-Snape at its centre. The emphasis is on canon-Snape, not movie Snape.

All pairings and AU are allowed as long as Snape remains true to his canon description as the (sarcastic, unfair, ugly, mean, greasy, marvellous, loyal, brave) git we all love. Go and check it out!

The Review Challenge

Dear Audience,

The best way to show your appreciation to an author, artisan or artist is to leave a review. Remember, none of us are paid to do this, and while we all enjoy making art and crafts or writing stories, we are also encouraged by feedback. It makes us continue with what we do; it makes us strive to improve ourselves, and in the long run, it gives you more to see and read.

General Rules: Revised

The previously posted rules mostly referred to sign-ups and entries. But now, as the party begins, the time has come to remind you of the few basic, but firm, rules we've put in place for these communities that apply to everyone:

All participants and readers must be over 18. If you aren't 18 yet and can read this, you lied about your age!

While this fest is rather easy going, there are two strict rules: no shipping wars and no concrit, as well meaning as it might be.

Only a few days left... :)

All the entries will be visible Saturday, my time (central Europe).
As soon as the fest opens, a review challenge will commence.

During the next few days, there will be some minor changes to the layout and link lists. Some things will be added to the rules. A detailed timeline will be posted plus a few other bits and pieces. The review challenge will be posted.

As we look, read and review, we'll be posting showcases: information posts for our affiliate archives, and an opportunity for authors, artists, beta readers and cheerleaders to introduce themselves if they so wish.

People will be free to post on the archives of their choice after January 20th. The review challenge will end January 31st. Check out our affiliate archives; they offer a 'Severus Big Bang' category.

Winners and prizes of the review challenge will be announced in February.

The fest, however, will continue. Some of you have put a lot of effort into your work but weren't able to finish it. If you can't use these almost completed stories, art or craft for another fest or challenge, feel free to send them to us, and we will put them up here after January 31st.

You need to have signed up to do this. Your work will still be part of the fest, then, even though it'll arrive too late for the actual party.

We'll do this all through 2010.

...and you know who you are. You still can send me your entries, but I'd be really glad if you could send them to me before Friday! No promises at this point, but I still have time to put things up.

Special SNARC Challenge

for art and drabbles. Go and take a look, no need to sign up, just write or draw or paint and post it there. All the entries will be reposted here and it will get its own category.

There is only one condition: It must be funny!

Please use the following headers when you send us your stories. They should be in the document of your story and with the email you send us. Artists, please include your name in the filename. Writers, please include the header in your attached document. We accept most formats, but prefer docx, doc or rtf.

You can just cut and paste the following headers, please insert your information where we wrote 'insert...'.
If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask. If you need an extension or have problems of any other kind, we'd prefer it if you sent us a mail.

Please note the warnings! For clarification of the underage kissing a reminder of the rules: we don't permit sexual situations for underage characters, but will allow a kiss that isn't graphic: no groping, frotting, dirty talk or similar. If that applies to your story, please tone it down accordingly. You can always post another version later on your own journal.
