Who: Dana and ANYONE =O!
When: May 5, 12:38pm
Where: The Great Hall
What: Zomg. Dana Davies is TOO happy. D=
Rating: PG/PG-13
Status: Incomplete

Why did she feel like singing? She never felt like singing! But now she did! And, if you knew Dana Davies at all, you knew she did what she wanted. So, she sung! She sang songs that her mother had listened to back when she was young. There was nothing better than some good old fashioned Spice Girls.

Talk about empowerment for women! Those birds were all about girl power back in their day! And since she seemed to be in such a good mood (something in the back of her mind was telling her that something had to be off, there just had to be something!) she was singing some of their songs. Loudly and obnoxiously. In the Great Hall. Which was fast filling up with people for lunch.

"You just walk in I make you smile. It's cool but you don't even know me, you take an inch I run a mile. Can't win you're always right behind me. And we know that you could go and find some other. Take or leave it or just don't even bother. Caught in a craze it's just a phase or will this be around foreverrrrrrrrr" And just as suddenly as she had started feeling this happy during breakfast this morning, she was up and dancing.

"STOP RIGHT THERE, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I NEED SOMEBODY WITH A HUMAN TOUCHHHHH." She looked down at a few of her mates, beckoning them to stand up and sing and dance with her. "COME ON YOU GUYS! Life is grand! Stand up! Sing! Dance! Be merry!"

Something was definitely wrong.

Well, whatever Dana was feeling, Audrey was feeling it in full blown mode. She had never quite experienced a feeling such as this, although she always considered herself happy and content with her life, perhaps because she was usually self-conscious about what she did and didn't want to make others feel uncomfortable either. Those insecurities though were shoved to side as soon as heard Dana start singing, and it was a song from her childhood as well, since her mother let her listen to old music from her day. Granted, some of the lyrics were suggestive, and she could only listen to that kind of music when her father and brothers were away, but she did listen to a wide and rather eclectic range of music when she was younger, the Spice Girls being just one of many.

"Do, Do, Do, Do, Do," she sang along to the bridge, releasing Cal's arm to stand up with Dana. Eh, who needed to eat lunch when there was singing to be had? "Always be together." She gave him a hug from behind before bouncing off to Dana. "Ba, da, Ba, Ba, Ba, da, Ba, Ba, Ba, da, Ba, Ba, Stay that way forever."

It was almost as if someone put too much caffeine and sugar in her juice, as she almost couldn't stay focused on the song, giggling with Dana.

When she heard Audrey start singing, she clapped her hands joyously. "That's the ticket, Audrey!" She bobbed her head along with Audrey's words, swaying back and forth in time with the words. She didn't care that she was getting many looks from people all over the Great Hall. Didn't they know that life was just grand? Why, some of those sour faces were just wrong! What a pity! So many people had amazing voices! Why weren't they singing?

"And we know that you could go and find some other. Take it or leave it cause we've always got each other!" Several of the professors were also staring now, but that didn't slow her down. She looked at Audrey, grinning widely. "May I have this dance?" She giggled, and then did a funny looking jig that her Dad had taught her.

It was hard to stay focused on the song and dancing at the same time. Focus took a lot of work! Which was saying something, as she usually had amazing focus.

To Audrey, she really couldn't see the people or their incredulous and/or amused looks, and she couldn't hear their laughter. At least, it didn't register in her brain like it would and tell her to run away or hide or blush or react as she usually did. When she saw them laughing, she thought everyone should laugh! It was healthy and it meant that they were happy! Because sad people rarely laughed, right?

When Dana started dancing, Audrey joined in and copied her moves. She really knew only a few structured dances like the jive or swing dancing and really didn't know "normal" teenage dance type moves, so it was just easier to try to emulate the jig that Dana did. "Of course!" she grinned, trying to follow the steps.

"You know who you are and yes, you're gonna breakdown," she sang along, finding it difficult to not burst out in giggles with the dance moves. "You've crossed the line so you're gonna have to turnaround."

Why would they be laughing at them? They were obviously just enjoying the show! That had to be it! After all, life was too grand for anything to be embarrassing or mocking! That was just a shameful thought! She'd have to scold herself by singing louder and being generally MORE happy than she already was. If that was possible.

Dana laughed loudly, watching Audrey trying to do her jig. Of course, she wasn't laughing at her, she was just enjoying herself! And so was Audrey! It was great that they were having such a good time! People were far too uptight and sad these days, it just wasn't right. "That's the way," she exclaimed, moving on to another part of the dance.

"So stop right there! Thank you very much!" She continued to dance, but couldn't get any more words out because she was laughing so hard. She waved at a few people that were giving her looks, gesturing them to get up and dance again.

Audrey wasn't thinking they were performing a show for everyone to see. She just thought they were two girls being incredibly happy and giggly and that everyone should join in, like a giant musical or those old movies that her parents showed her when she was little. She didn't think she was acting similar to Luke Spencer or any of the naturally happy and confident people; she just felt incredibly free without insecurities or caring how others perceived her.

She laughed, kicking her legs out, watching in surprise as one of her shoes went flying over the Great Hall and landed in a bowl of pudding at the Gryffindor table. She burst into a new fit of giggles, dancing in one shoe, trying to follow Dana's moves.

"I need somebody with the human touch," she placed her hands to her heart just like she remembered the Spice Girls doing once upon a time. Now all they needed were three more people to join in and then they'd have a group!

Oh brilliant! A giant musical! Wouldn't it be just amazing if life was a musical? For at least one day? And what day was better for it to be a musical than today? They'd already got it started, so now all they needed were more people to join in and start dancing and singing and just being happy! She'd pay for this later, once whatever it was that made her this way wore off, but right now? She didn't care. She was too happy to think about how this was all a little strange.

Or a lot.

Dana watched as the shoe soared across the hall and into the bowl of pudding, a shocked look on her face. When it landed, however, she simply burst out laughing again. Who needed both shoes on, anyway? Not them! She kicked off one of her own so that she could match Audrey and kept on dancing.

She pointed outwards, remembering what they had done, too, and bobbed from side to side. "Hey you, always on the run, gotta slow it down baby gotta have some fun!" She winked at Audrey, still grooving.

And happy old fashioned musicals rarely had bad evil grumpy men right? Or if they did, then they'd also be singing so they couldn't truly be evil when they had their own theme song, right? So it would solve all the world's problems! A giant musical! And Audrey wasn't thinking about the future or how she would feel later. If she was in that mind set, she would have stopped singing long ago.

And who needed shoes? Audrey still had socks on! So, she was good... even if later she would have to clean the pudding out of her shoe. And now Dana matched her! How sweet and absolutely grand of her! Audrey just beamed at her friend and kept dancing.

"Stop right now, thank you very much," she put out her hand as if to stop someone, shaking her head as well, lining up with Dana so they could face the same direction, which was towards the front of the hall and all their professors. "I need somebody with the human touch," she kept going and grinning. "Hey you always on the run, gotta slow it down baby, gotta have some fun."

No! They hardly ever had any sort of evil in them. They were usually love stories and beautifully done and just brilliant. But Audrey was right, who could be in a bad mood once they had a themesong? She couldn't! If she had her own themesong she was quite certain she'd never ever be sad or upset or mad ever again. That wasn't even possible!

Dana just giggled at Audrey, and kept dancing as well. She couldn't let Audrey be alone in her shoelessness, could she? Of course not! What kind of mate would she be if she did something horrible like that? Why, she'd not even be able to get up in the mornings if she acted that way!

Never mind the fact that she did act that way quite often.

She continued to sing backup for Audrey, but her attention span had drifted too much for her to actually remember the actual words. She simply repeated what the other girl said, laughing as she did so. How she did wish other people would join them!

Audrey wanted a theme song now! Her brother, Jeremy, seemed to love the Twilight Zone, so that would be his theme song, and her other brother, Nicolas, was so cocky, she figured "I'm Too Sexy" might fit him. But what would be her song? Originally, she might think "Miss Independent" would fit Dana but she was too happy for that song now. Maybe they should both become future Spice Girls and sing "Wannabe" and "The Lady is a Vamp" or something!

She burst into a fit of giggles, jumping up and down with Dana, as the song finished and her sides hurt from laughing so much. "What song now, Dana?" she asked, not paying attention to the rest of the non-singing crowd. "I know! I know!"

She took a deep breath, and then grinned widely. "Last time that we had this conversation, I decided we should be friends," she tried to do the hand movements that she remembered, "But now we're going round in circles, tell me will this deja vu never end? Oh..."

Dana wanted a themesong, too! But what in the world could be her themesong? She didn't think any song fit her just perfectly. Nothing seemed to cover her sunny disposition or her willingness to help others. She'd just have to write her own, then! Though, in reality, she was anything but sunny, and she only helped those she liked, not everyone. Though Audrey could certainly be "You Are My Sunshine", because she was certainly brilliant enough to be!

Dana tried to think of the next song they should sing. Oh, there were just so many! Why didn't they have more time so they could sing them all? It was dreadful that they had seperate classes! That would mean they couldn't sing together anymore!

But when Audrey broke into Say You'll Be There, she couldn't help but bounce a little bit. She LOVED this one! "And now you tell me that you've fallen in love. Well, I never ever thought that would be. This time, you gotta take it easy, throwing far too much emotions at me!"

Aw... Audrey would be so happy and flattered that Dana thought she could be "You Are My Sunshine!" She didn't think she was bright or happy enough normally to be that, but it was nice to be thought of that way. If of course, she could read Dana's thoughts and was thinking more seriously about herself. And she would love to listen to anything Dana wrote, especially if it was happy and upbeat like everyone should be!

Glad that Dana joined along -although honestly she would have continued singing if she hadn't because she was just too happy to stop- Audrey threw in more of the dancing choreography, trying not to giggle through the song. It was hard to with the bobbing and the shaking and other people laughing. They must have enjoyed the song too! "But any fool can see they're falling, I gotta make you understand..."
