Current music: | Old 97's: Question |
As a note, this is cross-posted here as part of das_dingsi's IJ Asylum meme in an attempt to raise activity in asylums. Since it was originally written for my friends list, I was assuming lowish knowledge about the show and it sort of showcases some of my obsessive detail-mongering fan habits.

Only four six songs because that's how many Multiply lets me upload at a time and I'm lazy, but they're all from Scrubs.
1) Old 97s - Question
This is the song that's playing in the scene where Turk proposes to Carla for the last time in the park and she accepts. Apparently they had the song chosen all along and actually built the scene around it. It's absolutely lovely, anyway.
2) The Blanks - Eight Days A Week
Ted's band! It's just a short clip from the wedding reception and starts with Ted's line, "Hi, we haven't used instruments for a long time, so bear with us if we're a little rusty." According to some of the audio commentaries, Ted's band was controversial on set - some people thought it was funny, some didn't. Whatever, I like them.
3) The Blanks - Somewhere Over the Rainbow
From the episode My Day Off, which of course has about a million Wizard of Oz references, from the Janitor painting lines in the corridors, to his "Oil! Oil!", Jordan being referred to as the Wicked Witch of the East Wing, Cox telling Carla to ignore the man behind the curtain... etc. It's a great episode and this song finishes it off.
4) Colin Hay - Waiting For My Real Life to Begin
This isn't the version of the song that's actually on the show. There, it's sung by one of the guest starts who's on the waiting list for a heart transplant but dies before she can get one. Colin Hay songs turn up a lot, and of course the first episode of the second season actually opens with a musical section in which Colin Hay himself appears and follows JD around the hospital singing.
5) Francis Dunnery - Good Life
I can't actually say for sure, but I think this is from season two, My Own Private Practice Guy. I do know that the scene it plays in is when Cox is looking at old photos etc from when he and Jordan were first married. In particular I remember her walking down a set of stairs in her wedding dress looking very pretty. I also love love love this song about as much as Question.
6) Dominican
One of my favourite dance numbers from a musical. :D The tango from My Musical that had to be filmed about six weeks after the rest, because Judy Reyes had hurt her hip and couldn't walk when they filmed MM. That's why she's sitting down for almost the entire episode.
It should probably be disturbing that I can give information about basically every song in my Scrubs playlist off the top of my head. I don't care. *snuggles Scrubs*
